When drawings are exported, lines and texts are mapped to layers in AutoCAD.
Layer names, ids and colors in AutoCAD are defined in Drawing export configuration. It can be located under library or project. If it’s in both locations, the one being under project is used.
‘Drawing export configuration’ can be copied from library to the project:
Default mappings for lines and texts are specified in Drafting styles.
Mappings, how model objects in drawing views are pointed to layers, are specified in Layer Styles.

Layer style has actually nothing to do with Line attribute style
both have their own independent sets.
Layer style is embedded to the Line attribute style only to make it easier for user to select only one style instead of two.
Possible that same Layer style is embedded to several Line attribute styles.
