All proceeds benefit the Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial Schol- arship Fund, established by Martha Vaughan, Stevie’s mother. The S.R.V. Pre-Party will be held October 1 at Rick Fairless’ Strokers Dallas featur- ing Pride & Joy, Sonny Wolf, Taylor Newman. On October 2, the Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas’ West End opens for motorcycle staging at 9 am. Mo- torcycle parade departs for South Side Ballroom for the Remembrance Concert (12:15’– 1 pm) Performer include Alan Haynes w/ Jackie New House, Tommy Shannon Blues Band, Castaneda Project and Los Lonely. The SRV After Party & All Star Jam at Gilley’s Jack Daniels Saloon will be held from 5-10pm. For more infor- mation, visit srvrideandconcert.org The Texas Musicians Museum is holding it’s first Classic Car Ride & Car Show Concert and Benefit on October 1 with all funds raised to benefit the Stevie Ray Vaughan Scholarship Fund and the Texas Mu- sicians Museum. The event will fea- ture Leo Hull & the Texas Blues Machine, Marc Benno, the Cliffhanger Project and the Silvertones. There will also be a pre- show party at the museum on Sep- tember 30. The Museum is located at 222 E. Irving Blvd. in downtown Irving. In Texas, western swing has al- ways been a thing, but it’s celebrated with extra enthusiasm in Greenville, where the third annual Bob Wills Fiddle Festival & Contest takes place Oct. 6-9, 2016. Among this year’s attractions are Asleep at the Wheel, Wills’ musical torchbearers, and The Time Jumpers, a western-swing su- pergroup featuring Vince Gill, Kenny Sears, “Ranger Doug” Green and Paul Franklin. The Wheel headlines an October 7 Kenneth Threadgill Concert Series triple bill with Dale Watson and His Lone Stars and the Jason Roberts Band joined by Leon Rausch, Greenville’s very own living link to Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys. The Time Jumpers skip through mu- sical history on October 8, a month after the release of Kid Sister, re- corded in honor of late member Dawn Sears. Both shows take place at the newly renovated Greenville Munici- pal Auditorium, 2821 Washington St., Greenville. Festival events also include the popular Bob Wills Fiddle Contest, free concerts, dances and other family-friendly activities hon- oring the father of western swing and his legendary Texas Playboys. KNON brings in the rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson for the 25th Anniversary Cowhide Cole’s Rockabilly Revue. The Revue is America’s longest running rockabilly radio show. Joining Wanda Jackson will another rockabilly legend based out of Dallas Gene Summers. Joining Summers will be the Panther City Ramblers. Opening will be Twangliner starring the man himself Cowhide Cole. Charlie Don’t Park of the Rockabilly Revue show will spin tunes between sets. For Blues fans KNON is proud to be joining up with Josh Allan in to celebrate his the release of his new CD 60 Goddamit. Yes Josh is turning 60 and this is how he is doing it. With a new CD and a big CD release party benefiting KNON at the Sons of Hermann Hall on Saturday Octo- ber 8. Miss Marcy opens the show. The country-blues-punk guitarist from Beaumont, has been building a cult following around the globe, playing 180 shows a year, with his guitar shredding, country- infused, Americana sound. The Revealer puts his considerable talent on full display as he plays guitar, bass, percussion, and keys, as well as singing his own harmonies. He’s as- sisted by childhood buddy Eric Tucker, Mike Stinson, and Eric Hughes , and Austin ringers Riley Osbourne and Beth Chrisman. Day- ton will perform at Love and War in Texas Plano on October 2.
