Came about through Percy Hedley & Northern Counties merging
First students – November 2005 Officially opened on 31 January 2006 Main campus at Northern Counties and able to
access other Percy Hedley sites

• The college is open for 38 weeks of the year as a college
• Funding for this is usually provided through Young Persons Learning Agency (YPLA)

– significant and complex neurological impairment– motor or sensory impairment– hearing impairment– learning difficulties– speech, language or communication difficulties– autistic spectrum.

We believe that our students should leave the college better equipped for living independent lives.
In order to support this aim we will undertake a number of activities with students such as –
– suitable and safe work experience placements for each student each year
– Transition planning with social workers, carers, Connexions advisors, local learning providers and transition coordinators
– Individualised support and guidance
