God calls us to confess our sin from Psalm 51:17
Liturgist: The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
We confess our sin
All (sing): stanzas 1 and 2 and chorus of “Come, O Redeemer, Come” (next page)
Liturgist: Heavenly Father, you have made us your children by grace, adop]ng us in love to be your family.
All: But we oDen do not seek the welfare of your church. We leave brothers and sisters in need while we seek our own loves and longings in other places. We spare ourselves from serving, sacrificing others to our selfish plans.
Liturgist: You have made us your royal family, heirs of your kingdom’s eternal riches.
All: Yet we have chosen to follow other kings who offer only wealth that fades and flee?ng thrills that cannot sa?sfy. Lord, have mercy on us.
(silent prayers of confession)
Liturgist: Father, in your great mercy, forgive us for was]ng your gi`s, forgeang your love, and forsaking your kingdom. Sa]sfy us by your Spirit, and fill us with the joy that comes only from Jesus, so that we seek your glory in loving your people and gladly giving our lives to the mission of our King.
All (sing): stanza 3 and chorus of “Come, O Redeemer, Come” (next page)
page 4
STANDING (IF ABLE)
God declares our forgiveness from Psalm 130:3-4, 7-8
Liturgist: If the Lord should hold our sins against us, no one could stand. But with the Lord there is forgiveness, that he may be feared. O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is plen]ful redemp]on. And he will redeem you from all your sins. For all who have turned from sin in sorrow and look to God for mercy, this is God’s gi`. In Jesus Christ, God loves you, God forgives you, God accepts you, and God rejoices over you as beloved daughters and sons.
All: Hallelujah, Amen!

All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We offer ourselves in gifts and song Psalm 62 (My Soul Finds Rest)
Text: trans. David J. Diephouse, 1986 © 2007, CRC Publications Tune: Traditional English melody
Prior to singing, we will take a moment of silence to reflect and pray.
Central Presbyterian welcomes all Chris]ans who ac]vely trust in Jesus Christ for salva]on, who are willing to forsake their sin, and who are members of congrega]ons that proclaim the gospel to receive Holy Communion with us. If you are not ready to receive communion, you may simply pass the elements by. We also urge you to meditate on one of the prayers below.
Bread: The bread is gluten-‐free.
Ea)ng and drinking: Please eat and drink as you receive the bread and the cup when you are ready. We will not hold the elements and wait to eat un]l all have been served.
Prayer for those searching: Lord Jesus, you claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Help me to be undaunted by the cost of following you as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what you claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open me to the reality of who you are. Give me an understanding of you that is coherent and convincing and that leads to the life you promise. Amen.
Prayer of new belief: Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared believe, but through you I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt on the cross, taking what I deserved in order to offer me complete forgiveness. Knowing that you have been raised from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Amen.
