DESCRIPTION

Pollution is a social problem which needs to be more globally addressed. When we don’t recycle and allow more garbage into landfills, we are slowly killing the environment and added more harmful gasses into the atmosphere. Recycling is a simple act which can make a big difference in the future. It doesn’t take much to place recyclable objects into the proper blue bins instead of garbage cans. As humans, we need to take the initiative to help preserve the environment for our lives and future generations to come.

Pollution is a social problem which needs to be more globallyaddressed. When we don’t recycle and allow more garbage intolandfills, we are slowly killing the environment and added moreharmful gasses into the atmosphere. When plastic is made fromraw materials, harmful CFCs are created and released in to theatmosphere in which we breathe. Landfills are quickly filling up

which is resulting in more trees being cut down to accommodatethe constant demand for space to deposit waste.

Plastic soda bottles and glass can take up to 1 million years to decompose

Aluminum cans and diapers can take up to 500 years

Recycling is beneficial in the following ways:

- Less trees are cut down allowing forests and the wildlife within to stay preserved

- Helps keep the oceans, lakes, and rivers clean from toxins and minimizes the amount of water needed to process new goods

- Reusing aluminums allows less use of natural resources

- Cuts down the amount of garbage in landfills

- The amount of raw materials needed to create a product is decreased which minimizes energy costs over 50%.
