GREEN FACTSYour T.V set can run for three hours on the energy saved from recycling one aluminum can
Recycling a single run of the Sunday New York Times would save 75,000 trees
Plastic bags and other plastic garbage thrown into the ocean kill as many as 1,000,000 sea creatures every year
The energy saved from recycling one glass bottle can run a 100-watt light bulb for four hours. It also causes 20% less air pollution, and 50% less water pollution then when a new bottle is made from raw materials

how you can help fight car pollution
Choose greener transportation, instead of always driving, take the bus or car pool whenever you can
If your not travelling too far, why not walk, rollerblade or ride your bike
Anytime you use one of these alternatives you reduce or eliminate the amount of carbon dioxide created by driving a gas powered vehicle

do your part: RECYCLEThe majority of ‘garbage’ in a landfill can be recycled, so do your part at home and recycle as much as you can to reduce the amount of garbage you bring to the curb
Use your green box! Over the course of a year the average person will throw out 1200 pounds of organic garbage that can be composted
Recycling plastic saves twice as much energy as burning it in an incinerator

water conservation tipsDon’t let the water run while washing dishes, fill one sink with wash water and the other with rinse water
Take shorter showers, showers under 5 minutes can save up to 1000 gallons of water a month
Turn the water off while brushing your teeth, and save 4 gallons/minute
Only run your dishwasher and washing machine when you have a full load
