    Crystal snow (1)Industrial Design and Visual Communications students rom theUniversity o Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL) have collaboratedwith Swarovski and snowboard manu acturer Nidecker to createa collection o unusual, de luxe snowboards. The students hadree reign to customise the boards with inlaid crystals, creatingvisually appealing pieces that were presented in an exhibitioncalled Crystal Snow.Source: www.ecal.ch

    Posh footie (2)In response to the lack o design initiative given to ootballtables, this stylish showpiece is the creation o two specialist

    companies, GRO design and TIM modelmakers. Called the 11, thepiece attempts to give the ootball table architectural andsculptural consideration, as in a real-world stadium. The brightsilver chrome nish o the player gures adds a de luxe qualityand is symbolic o ootballers iconic status in sport and society,while the tables lines and monochrome colour palette add asense o dynamism and drama.Source: www.eleventhegame.com

    Cube 6 (3)Cube 6 is a diminutive cube made rom birch plywood and maplethat un olds into six compact, unctional seats. When not in use,the cube measures 350x350x350mm.     Light champagne (4)Champagne brand Veuve Clicquot has collaborated or the secondtime with product designer Karim Rashid to create 500 limited-edition, high-impact lamps containing cooling bottle carriers.The Globalight eatures a sophisticated internal lighting systemthat creates a so t pink halo while keeping the champagne at theideal temperature or two hours.     Boomboy (5)Boomboy, a quirky loudspeaker created by a Royal College o Artstudent, has been ashioned rom hand-carved walnut. A bassduct supplied by audio manu acturers Bowers & Wilkins runsthrough the wooden body, enabling excellent sound quality.Power wires or earphones can be placed in the characters handor easy storage.     Animal Tales (6)Animal Tales is a collection o urniture, lamps and accessoriesthemed around the animal kingdom. Inspired by the image oa hungry cuckoo chick, the spherical, copper-glazed Cuco vaseeatures a unique beak-shaped opening in which owers canbe placed. The Jira a oor lamp is loosely reminiscent o a girafeand the Muli is a solid oak sideboard that subtly re erences amule, with angled legs that give the impression o walking.Design: ding3000 (www.ding3000.com)

    Cappellini Love collection (7)American industrial designer Stephen Burks has created arange o eco-conscious ware or Italian urniture manu acturerCappellini. The Cappellini Love collection comprises a series ovases and bowls made rom glass ragments and a small groupo serving tables made rom recycled paper. South A ricanartisans were enlisted to learn specialised papier-mchtechniques so that they can produce the collection on a largerscale in the uture.Design: Stephen Burks (www.readymadeprojects.com)

    Established & Sons new collection (8)British design and manu acturing company Established & Sonshas introduced, or the rst time, non-British designers to itscollection. Israeli-born Shay Alkalay has created a multi-coloured oating set o drawers, Jaime Hayn rom Spain has created aset o Tudor dining chairs inspired by the six wives o Henry VIII,while Dutch Maarten Baas has ashioned the Chankley Bore, alimited-edition range o humorous sculptural urniture.Source: Established & Sons(www.establishedandsons.com)

    Twist on the classics (9,10 & 11)Farm, a collective o British designers, has produced a range owitty design objects by taking inspiration rom popular Britishculture. The collection includes a one-legged table called JockCorner and a clock called Grand ather C, which is constructedcompletely out o cardboard and based on the classic grand atherclock. The School Chaise is an adaptation o the traditionalorange school chair, with an elongated seat that gives it a new

    Sound/Chair (12 & 13)The Sound/Chairs 3D orm is a physical representation o soundwaves. The chair accurately conveys a sound wave as seen on a3D graph o volume, while the vivid purple colour brings theconcept to li e.
