As we go through life and intentionally enhance our relationship with the Lord we get to know Him. From the bounty of His many graces we discover that God is order. His vision of the world and humanity is not based on created human paradigms. His way of doing things is based on His everlasting love, compassion and desire for the salvation of humanity. His sense of order is based on equality and giving everybody the same opportunity of everlasting life.

His will is not a selfish design. Selfishness is lack of love

and God is love. God cannot go against Himself. His is a Kingdom of light, bringing wisdom in all the affairs of His creatures. His is a kingdom of complete transparency and truth that doesn’t allow any other individual “truths”, personal agendas or selfish desires reign. This is not about my “truth” or your “truth”. This is about the universal sense of creation as we get into the mind and heart of God, experiencing our freedom for the benefit of all.

If we rely on the world and its sense or order we shall die.

It’s incomplete. It’s changed. The world is always requesting from us to be first. Certainly, there’s no problem in excelling on whatever we set our hearts on. The problem arises as we do it at any price, regardless of who gets affected or hurt. As we hold on to only our way or the high way we alienate others. If we live our way we are not living in the Spirit; the Spirit of truth and revelation, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of forgiveness.

We live in the Spirit as we go beyond our own

bodies, our own needs and desires. When we see the need in others and we give our neighbor what they need we change their lives for the better. When we hold on to the truth of Christ without any jealousy, ill will or ulterior motives we become wisdom, allowing Jesus to show us the way and in such we help others to walk in the light. Ultimately when we forgive we assist God in humanity’s healing process.

In order for us to be wise, to be

merciful and to live in the truth we must be simple of hearts. God has denied true wisdom to the learned and powerful and has given it to the humble, to the simple ones. When you don’t have an array of concepts, worries and philosophies upon your heart and mind you focus on what’s important and act upon your identity which is based on Jesus Christ. So it’s not fear, greed, pride nor insecurity what dwells in your heart but Jesus who lives in you. Through the history of salvation God has entrusted His plans to the little ones.

King David, the Virgin Mary, St. Aloysius Gonzaga… they

all abandoned themselves in the Lord. They trusted their belief in God allowing God to be God in their lives and in the history of humankind. Once you do that everything around you is touched by the redeemed blood of the Sacred Lamb Jesus. As some people hold on to power, influence, control, vengeance, resentment and many other feelings, ideas and agendas we are called to let go. We are invited in the gospel to abandon ourselves into the wisdom of God. It’s about acknowledging our pains, labors, limitations and worries and put them at the feet of the Master. By doing so we become little and worthy of God’s mercies and revelations.

A medida que pasamos por la vida y mejoramos intencionalmente nuestra relación con el Señor, llegamos a conocerlo. De la generosidad de Sus muchas gracias descubrimos que Dios es orden. Su visión del mundo y de la humanidad no se basa en paradigmas humanos creados. Su manera de hacer las cosas se basa en Su amor eterno, compasión y deseo de la salvación de la humanidad. Su sentido del orden se basa en la igualdad y en dar a todos la misma oportunidad de vida eterna.

Su voluntad no es un diseño egoísta. El egoísmo es falta de amor

y Dios es amor. Dios no puede ir contra Sí mismo. El suyo es un Reino de luz, trayendo sabiduría en todos los asuntos de Sus criaturas. El suyo es un reino de total transparencia y verdad que no permite que reinen otras "verdades", agendas personales o deseos egoístas. No se trata de mi "verdad" o de tu "verdad". Se trata del sentido universal de la creación a medida que entramos en la mente y el corazón de Dios, experimentando nuestra libertad en beneficio de todos.

Si confiamos en el mundo y en su sentido u orden moriremos.

Está incompleto. Ha cambiado. El mundo siempre nos pide que seamos los primeros. Ciertamente, no hay problema en sobresalir en lo

que pongamos nuestros corazones. El problema surge a medida que lo hacemos a cualquier precio, independientemente de quién se vea afectado o lastimado. A medida que nos aferramos sólo a nuestro camino o a la alta manera en que alienamos a los demás. Si vivimos a

nuestra manera, no estamos viviendo en el Espíritu; el Espíritu de verdad y revelación, el Espíritu de sabiduría y entendimiento, el Espíritu de perdón. Vivimos en el Espíritu a medida que vamos más allá de nuestro propio cuerpo, de nuestras propias necesidades y deseos. Cuando vemos la necesidad en los demás y le damos a nuestro prójimo lo que necesita, cambiamos sus vidas para mejor. Cuando nos aferramos a la verdad de Cristo sin celos, mala voluntad o motivos ulteriores nos convertimos en sabiduría, permitiendo que Jesús nos muestre el camino y en tal ayudamos a los demás a caminar en la luz. En última instancia, cuando perdonamos, ayudamos a Dios en el proceso de sanación de la

humanidad. Para que seamos sabios, seamos misericordiosos y vivamos en la verdad, debemos ser sencillos de corazón. Dios ha negado la verdadera sabiduría a los eruditos y poderosos y se la ha dado a

los humildes, a los sencillos. Cuando no tienes una serie de conceptos, preocupaciones y filosofías en tu corazón y mente te centras en lo que es importante y actúas sobre tu identidad que se basa en Jesucristo. Así que no es el miedo, la codicia, el orgullo ni la inseguridad lo que habita en tu corazón sino Jesús que vive en ti. A través de la historia de la salvación, Dios ha confiado Sus planes a los más pequeños.

El Rey David, la Virgen María, San Luis Gonzaga... todos se

abandonaron en el Señor. Confiaron en su creencia en que Dios permitió que Dios fuera Dios en sus vidas y en la historia de la humanidad. Una vez que haces eso todo lo que te rodea es tocado por la sangre redimida del Sagrado Cordero Jesús. A medida que algunas personas se aferran al poder, la influencia, el control, la venganza, el resentimiento y muchos otros sentimientos, ideas y agendas, estamos llamados a dejarnos ir. Estamos invitados en el Evangelio a abandonarnos a la sabiduría de Dios. Se trata de reconocer nuestros dolores, labores, limitaciones y preocupaciones y ponerlos a los pies del Maestro. Al hacerlo, llegamos a ser pequeños y dignos de las misericordias y revelaciones de Dios.

Teaching about Truth in a Time of Doubt and Discord: Four aspects of truth that ground our understanding (Extract from Catechist Magazine article by Ann Garrido) Truth equips us to see the world as it actually is In our work as catechists, we want to stress that there is such a thing as reality and that it is in our best interest as humans to be aligned with it for the sake of our survival and thriving. We want to cultivate the desire to understand the world better and encourage vocations to the sciences as a way of living the human task in the world well. The God who created the universe and set up the laws that govern it is the same God that we worship. God, like truth, is one. Truth guides us in forming judgments We need to be able to interpret the facts and discern among them to form opinions or judgments about how to best make sense of the happenings around us and how to respond to them. In our ministry as catechists, we need to be able to explain not only what the Church teaches, but why the Church teaches it. Healthy conversational skills are essential for living a truth-filled life in today’s world. Truth shapes the way we communicate with each other Being steeped in truth requires not only that we see the world accurately, but also that we communicate what we know honestly. As catechists, if we want the next generation to be able to receive any of the age-old truths we wish to pass on to them, we will need to be firmly committed to rebuilding the trustworthiness of words. We will need to model our own words by only saying things that we ourselves hold to be true. Truth enables us to build and remain committed to relationships Many of the youth we serve have not grown up in situations where they have seen and benefited from strong, faithful relationships they could count on. They live in a world that not only questions truth but wonders whether it is possible to be true. In our work as catechists, we want to lift up stories of both divine and human fidelity. While we can’t form long-lasting relationships with every one of the youths we catechize, we certainly want to witness in our own life that relationships matter to us.

Enseñanza sobre la Verdad en un Tiempo de Duda y Discordia: Cuatro aspectos de la verdad que cimientan nuestro entendimiento (Extracto del artículo de la revista Catechist de Ann Garrido)

La verdad nos equipa para ver el mundo tal como es en realidad En nuestro trabajo como catequistas, queremos subrayar que existe tal cosa como la realidad y que es en nuestro mejor interés como seres humanos estar alineados con ella por el bien de nuestra supervivencia y prosperar. Queremos cultivar el deseo de entender mejor el mundo y fomentar las vocaciones a las ciencias como una forma de vivir bien la tarea humana en el mundo. El Dios que creó el universo y estableció las leyes que lo gobiernan es el mismo Dios que adoramos. Dios, como la verdad, es uno.

La verdad nos guía en la formación de juicios Tenemos que ser capaces de interpretar los hechos y discernir entre ellos para formar opiniones o juicios sobre cómo dar mejor sentido a los acontecimientos que nos rodean y cómo responder a ellos. En nuestro ministerio como catequistas, debemos ser capaces de explicar no sólo lo que la Iglesia enseña, sino por qué la Iglesia lo enseña. Las habilidades conversacionales saludables son esenciales para vivir una vida llena de verdad en el mundo de hoy.

La verdad da forma a la manera en que nos comunicamos entre nosotros Estar impregnados de verdad requiere no sólo que veamos el mundo con precisión, sino que también comuniquemos lo que sabemos honestamente. Como catequistas, si queremos que la próxima generación pueda recibir cualquiera de las viejas verdades que deseamos transmitirles, tendremos que estar firmemente comprometidos a reconstruir la confiabilidad de las palabras. Tendremos que modelar nuestras propias palabras diciendo sólo las cosas que nosotros mismos consideramos verdaderas.

La verdad nos permite construir y permanecer comprometidos a las relaciones Muchos de los jóvenes a los que servimos no han crecido en situaciones en las que han visto y se han beneficiado de relaciones fuertes y fieles con las que podrían contar. Viven en un mundo que no sólo cuestiona la verdad, sino que se pregunta si es posible ser verdad. En nuestro trabajo como catequistas, queremos levantar historias de fidelidad divina y humana. Si bien no podemos formar relaciones duraderas con cada uno de los jóvenes que catequizamos, ciertamente queremos ser testigos en nuestra propia vida de que las relaciones nos importan.

Good news…Our parish is in the process of celebrating Baptisms, Reconciliation, weddings and funerals. Our staff and team of volunteers have been working hard to keep everyone’s well-being – both physical and spiritual. It is our hope that once we have completed 3 services, we will then apply for phase 2 in order to resume Sunday Masses. We anticipate this to happen by the end of July. Updates will be posted in our webpage and in our Facebook page. Your Help is Needed The Reopening Co-leadership Team and our Volunteer Captains need additional people to step forward and serve in various capacities so that our community may begin to pray, celebrate and worship together. Please prayerfully consider lending your time to this important ministry and contact the parish office at 773-278-4808. If you are 65 years of age or older you can still volunteer so long as you do not have any underlying conditions and are in good health.
