ABOUT CSID >

Ever since starting out with design in 2005 I have always dreamt about starting my own interior design business. My ultimate goal is to provide a unique and inspirational experience to the way my clients live, work and play through providing simple & balanced interior solutions.

From complex space planning, conceptual design consultations and down to the selection of cushions fabric, CSID can offer the full package, and would love the opportunity to meet with potential clients and design enthusiasts.

ABOUT THIS PORTFOLIO >

The images in the following portfolio are works completed in my four years working at Coop Creative. They demonstrate a wide variety of styles and project types that I have had the privilege to work on, without which I would never have gained the experience to start CISD.

All images are property of Coop Creative PTY LTD and have been approved to Claire Stevens to use to promote Claire Stevens as a designer.

The Spicer’s Balfour Hotel located on a residential street of an inner city Brisbane suburb, is a private hotel, the facilities are for guests only. It was created to provide intimate high end accommodation for professionals tired of the usual 5 star offerings.

The final resolution of the hotel breaks away from the recent trend in hospitality design, there is no theme and the luxury is understated.

The original 1910 building has been a form of short term accommodation since returned soldiers lived there in the 1940’s. It was our intention to maintain the modesty of the structure, to give guests an experience of living in a typical tin and timber building.

Villa Margaret is situated at Mount Tambourine, and sits on the edge of the range with vistas of the entire gold coast. Originally built in the 1930’s Villa Margaret was once a retreat for Arch Bishop Duhig - now it is a home away from home for a growing family.

With so much of the original structure still in good condition the brief for this job was to keep the art deco charm whilst ensuring it is functional for a modern day family.

We collaborated with PUSH architects on this project to create a fine balance between traditional and modern detailing.

This gentleman’s apartment has been completely transformed on a tight budget, using functional materials. It reveals that our advanced interior design skill were integral to maximizing the full potential of this one “ugly duckly”.

The apartment is not large, merely 90sqm, but we have achieved a sense of openness, by creating focal points, diffusing light and opening up views throughout the space.

The brief for this kitchen refurbishment was to open up the existing gallery style kitchen to allow the client a larger open kitchen which allows her to entertain in, with the ability to display personal objects

Soft muted tones were used on the cabinets to give them a traditional feel, whilst touches of colour inside cabinets were used to create an individual feel to the space.

The client was a very experienced restauranteur who wanted a specific look for his most recent venture Sage; an up market urban cafe.

Highly finished materials were used along side vintage wallpaper to give the space its very own personality.

40 Park Avenue was a collaboration between Coop and Jadecorp creating 5 unique penthouse style riverside apartments.

The brief was for an interior of unsurpassed elegance with attention to detail not seen before in apartment developments.

The palette and detail appeals to a sophisticated market, whilst being contemporary homes, the apartments have classic references allowing them to reflect the character of their owners.

The brief for the Brisbane Designer Rugs Showroom was to transform an old warehouse to create a showroom with strong connection to the street, as the open plan warehouse lacked a sense of entry and character.

The design features a series of angled walls to control views, direct people through the showroom and separate reception, display and private staff spaces. The design of the showroom was approached much like a gallery, by keeping the shell and insertions white, the vibrant colour in the rugs is emphasised and form the feature.

A limited palette was used to direct the focus to the product in this lighting showroom. We approached this project much like an exhibiting trade show, by creating an insertion into an existing space, free from the perimeter structure.

The pod structure allowed us to create divisions in the space for different lighting products.

The penthouse apartment has been completely re-orientated and opened to maximise its views to the gateway, Woolloongabba, CBD, Story Bridge and beyond. The silver, grey and cream palette gives the apartment a warm yet glamorous experience.
