Are you a Town resi-dent that would like to get more involved with your local community? Would you like to learn more about the Town from the inside? If so, the Town of St. Albans has various exciting volunteer positions available. Appoint-ments are made by the Selectboard.

DevelopmentReview Board

Staffed by our Zoning Administrator, the DRB is charged with conduct-ing formal hearings on developments in a fair and unbiased manner. At their hearings, the Board takes testimony, reviews evidence, and renders decisions in accord with our regula-tions. In general, the DRB meets twice a month.

RecreationCommittee

The Recreation Com-mittee is a joint commit-tee made up of Town and City of St. Albans residents who plan and implement recreation programs for the St. Albans community. This active group of volunteers meets monthly at the City Hall.

Regional PlanningCommission

This Commission consists of 2 mem-bers from each town in the Franklin/Grand Isle region. It is com-missioned to plan for regional projects, bylaws, town plans etc. This commis-sion meets monthly at Northwest Regional Planning Commis-sion.

TransportationAdvisory Council

Franklin/Grand Isle County TAC discuss-es repair issues to State and local bridg-es and roads as well as makes recommen-dations to the legisla-ture. This council also discusses air, trail, and other transporta-

tion issues.
