Student Council has been sponsoring a fund raiser for the Ronald McDonald House called “Pull for the Ronald McDonald House”. Each class has a collection box. Stu-dents have been collecting and placing pop tabs from various soda, soup, vegetables and pet food cans in their classroom’s box. The tabs will eventually be recycled and the proceeds will go to help the Ronald McDonald House charities. In addition to helping others, ASCS has the opportunity of winning a computer and a $1000 school supply shopping spree simply by collecting pop tabs. The Student Council is challenging all classes to collect as many pop tabs as possible between now and Friday, April 3rd. The class that collects the most pop tabs will win an ice cream treat.

POP TABS, ICE CREAM AND STUDENT COUNCIL...WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

Green Shirt day will be on March 17, Saint Patrick's Day. The cost is $0.50. Tickets will be pre-sold in the courtyard.

FEBRUARY 21 & 22, 2009 MERRILL PARK, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS

A HUGE THANK YOU!

The 8th Annual Sean Macher Memorial Softball Tournament

held on February 21 & 22 was a huge success. Sean once again came through with gorgeous weather both days. We are very pleased to announce that we have reached $9,500 that will go towards the Sean Macher Memorial Scholarship! Congratulations to “Liam Fitzpatrick,” who won 1st Place and “Micros,” many of whom are Bishop Moore alumni, who won 2nd Place. A big thank you to the following: Father Trout for starting the tournament off with a prayer; the players on each of the 10 teams that were in the tournament – 5 of which had All Souls parents or alumni; the families, faculty and staff that came to cheer on the All Souls and other teams; all the present and alumni students who volunteered; the scorekeepers who volunteered their time; the umpires; and to everyone who donated time, money or items to the tournament, including the following sponsors:

A special thanks to Brad Lawless for all his help getting the fields at Merrill Park, allowing us to do concessions both days, and all the donations that he acquired. Merrill Park has great fields and facilities. Having the tournament there has made the weekend run so smoothly, and we get to see everyone who came to support Sean and the tournament. Also, special thanks to Ken & Pat Breeding, Randy, Crystal & Erik Hatch, and Laura, Tim, Deven & Tony Wilks for the delicious BBQ chicken & pulled pork dinners. Especially to the “Dads” who spent all night cooking and then playing softball. All their efforts brought in $1,001 to the tournament! A big thank you to all of you! And a special thank you to the Tournament Committee – Ken & Pat Breeding, Mary Moran, Tesa & Bill Robinson, Rhonda Ryan, and especially Wendy Schirard - who first started the tournament, & we would not have been able to continue without her – for all their hard work to make this tournament such a huge success. Thank you all for helping us to keep Sean’s memory alive while helping All Souls and students in need. Cheri, Don & Rachel Macher
