After the earthquake on Sep. 21, 1999, which de-structive destroyed the whole island located the south east asia, especially the middle part of the island. The disad-vantaged minority become focus of the socity. The damage which caused by the earthquake is a rteally heavy byrden to them.
The disadvantaged minority I emphasized here is the people who are the aborigine and live around the rpicenter of the island. They are comparative poor and ignorant. They did not know how to strive for their subvention from government. In other hand, the subvention is holding by the landowner( most of the aborigine did not own the land where their house located.) The situation is really disadvantageous to them.
Some non-profit organization and person were awaring about this tough situation and decide to give their hands. They tried to do something to improve these aborigine’s life. The Architect Mr. Xie abandoned his career in the city and move to the aborigine’s tribe. He really got into their daily life and tried to realize where is the problem.
Because some of the building the aborigine lived was destroyed by the earthquake. Mr. Xie developed a system of the construction process. He simplified the process and used the material structural metal studs. The merit of the material are easy to deal and handle, even by a non-professional worker, and cheap.
I and my classmates provided our manpower to trade our bread and lodging( just like the aborigine did.) We took our summer vacation to joined the non-stop re-build program which has started since 2000.

+ Dam: Precaution, Shelter, Farm. The computing exersice is to testing the different performance of the perforation system. In order tp purify water and absorb CO2, the maximum exposed area is required and is the goal.
Certain concerns, like social issues are added to this project. The computing exersice is not the only aspect in this project, but also some social aspect.
The constrains and the goal wanted to achieve of the computing is not only to satisfy the require-ment, but also give us another way of thinking about how is the real conditions and how to come out the maximum options of solving the problem by conputing.

+ This project is an exercise of form developing. First I have 3 species of basic cells. Through the process of developing, moidfy by the idea of program, a family housing.
+ a. The Finger cell. + b. The Skin cell.
The fiinger and the skin cell are the first two cell developed which are working in a pair. They interact with each other. The configuration of the this project is to develope the cell with the idea of gracity. While the object flip to one side, the cell will transform, deform, or evolve to the next generation.
+ c. The Muscle cell. In order to fight the gravity, the Muscle cell plays an important role. It digest the human’s rejection and feed the trees, which provide the force to support the house.
Site
+ This project is loacted right up to the Mies Fransworth House.

Topological Issue: Structure.
+ The muscle is helping the house fighting the gravity, but is not damaging the trees. Their relationship is more like co-existed partners.
Muscle + Trees
+ The muscle play 3 roles.
+ a. Structure System.+ b. Circulation Sytem.+ c. Digested Sytem. Absorb the human’s rejection to feed the trees.
Co-existed Relationship
+ The muscle is hel ping the house fighting the gravity, but is not damaging the trees. Their relationship is more like co-existed partners.
Seasons
+ The outside shell is breathable and livable. In summer it will cover by greens.
