Import a suitable drum loop into yourcomposition and manipulate the rhythm/timing of your sample(s), to fit with yourloop.

Adding a Drum Loop…

Go to Media > Loop Browser.

To play the loop click the arrow (see below).

Double-click the loop to add it to your composition.

Copy the file, as before (using <CTRL K>).

Now try to ensure that your words/phrases fit with yourbeat, you may need to modify your samples.

Applying Modulation… First select the track you want to edit.

Press the ‘e’ button in the track name area.

In the pop-up box, click on the black rectangleunder ‘i 1’ and choose ‘reverb’. Then select‘roomworks’.

Load the presets in the same way you load theHalionOne instruments and try a few effects out.

Extension: You can also change the pitch & quality of the voiceby choosing ‘modulation’ instead of reverb. Then select ‘ringmodulation’ and try changing the settings (or select a preset)

Your tasks…Last lesson’s tasks:

To select and import at least one sample (don’t let this takemore than 5 minutes).

To edit (cut) the sample into the sections you will use (thiscould be just a word, phrase, sound effect, or a longersample) and incorporate these into your composition.

Today’s task:

To add a drum loop to your composition and manipulatethe rhythm/timing of your sample(s), to fit with your loop.

Apply modulation to your samples in a musical/stylisticway.
