of 220 kV GIS having 220 kV and 33 KV outdoor

equipment, 100 MVA power transformers and other

substation equipment. The cost of the project is Rs.

576.4 million. Implementation Schedule: As of August

2009, bids are invited for the project on turnkey basis.

The last date of submission being 25-08-2009. The

project has a completion period of 12-15 months from

the effective date of contract.

Power Grid Corporation of India is to construct and

contract at a cost of Rs.1,090 million. Implementation

Schedule: The projects are scheduled to be

commissioned in the next 12 to 24 months. Siemens

energy sector will construct a new 400/ 220 KV

substation at Bachau and upgrade another two existing

substations of GETCO at Limbdi and Ranchodpura in

Gujarat. This project is a part of the Associated

Transmission System for Ultra Mega Power Project

(UMPP) to transmit the bulk power generated by

Mundra UMPP to the western region. The other contract

received by Siemens is for extension of 400 KV

substations at Maithon in Jharkhand. The scope of work

Jindal Steel & Power is setting up a Greenfield integrated

steel plant in Angul district of Orissa. The company has

awarded orders for 400/220 kV substations &

transformers to Areva T&D India. The transformers

order is for design, manufacturing, supply at site,

erection, testing & commissioning of 2x315 MVA,

400/220kV interconnecting transformers and 6x120

MVA, 220/34.5kV power transformers. The substation

order includes major AREVA products like 400/220kV

circuit breakers, instrument transformers and

automation system with control and relay panels on

turnkey basis. The company will also execute design &

engineering, supply, erection & commissioning including

detail engineering for civil works related to this

substation. The orders are valued at Rs. 1200 million.

Implementation Schedule : The project is slated for

completion by December 2010.

and Govt. of Tripura) is undertaking Power transmission

projects associated with the 726.6 MW gas based power

plant at Pallatana in Tripura. The company has awarded

two orders to KEC International for supply of towers,

hardware, line materials and construction of 1) Package

A3: 400 kV D/C Khelerihat-Byrinhat transmission line

with a route length 119 Kms in the State of Meghalaya.

2) Package A4: 400 kV D/C Byrnihat – Bongaigaon

Transmission line with a route length of 203 Kms in the

State of Assam. The orders are valued at Rs. 3640

million. Implementation Schedule: They are scheduled

for completion by February 2012.
