Characteristics of A cultural space where people meet daily and recieve their guests to the element exchange their views and usually they celebrate occasions in it.

Majlis is usually constructed at one of the courtyard's corners and it is built of some construction materials such as cement, steel, painting, etc. It may be also built from mud and palm trunks or goat hair, tents (environment friendly). Space area of Majlis may vary according to the area of the courtyard, but usually ranges from 16 square meters to 400 square meters. Majlis is known for its modem and traditional architectural decorations, and sometimes it has modem Western furniture (benches, chairs and sofas) or Arabic furniture (floor seating with cushions). There is usually a stove to prepare coffee and other hot beverages, in addition to several shelves (alkamar) used to store coffee pots and teapots.

in the KSA who are interested in heritage. Such gatherings certainly give a sense of identity, pride, family and societal belonging within the village, town or district provinces.

As Al Majlis spaces are open to all age groups, parents always tend to encourage their children to join the gatherings, especially the youth, although social networks have become common nowadays. The Majlis is a space for the various theatrical and practical activities and knowledge practiced by the frequenters. This helps young people to recognize positive traditions and values. Young people are sometimes assigned with welcoming guests, prepare coffee and tea and serve them. They may also listen to subjects of knowledge and science, folktales, stories and personal experiences. Young people can then present theie ideas and thoughts in front of the elderly. These unofficial and rather spontaneous means proved to be effective m transmitting knowledge and traditions from one generation to another.

Majlis spaces have a great educational, social, moral, literary and economic role at the level of individuals, groups and communities. In this way, they go along the values and customs that are compatible with human rights, rights of minorities, groups and communities, in addition to encouraging respect for others and accepting their opinions.
