KHAIRPUR NEED CUM MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

District Government Khairpur is pleased to announce NEED-cum-Merit scholarship 2010-2011, for deserving talented students of District Khairpur, who are seeking admission / getting education in higher or professional studies in the recognized Public / Private Sector Universities / Institutions / Colleges of Pakistan. The Criteria for grant of Scholarships are as follows:- CATEGORY I

Those students who are admitted during the year 2010-2011, as well as those who are already studying in the Federal / Provincial Government recognized Educational Institutions such as Medical Colleges, Nursing Colleges / Schools, Engineering Universities, General Colleges, and General Universities. Those students who have already received the Khairpur merit cum NEED scholarship in July 2010 are not entitled. CATEGORY II Fifty (50) scholarships will be awarded on the basis of NEED-cum-Merit to those students who are successful to get admissions in any of the following top ranking Universities / Institutions of Pakistan. Maximum limit of award will be Rs.100,000/- per annum for student till completion of his / her degree 1. Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad 2. Shaheed Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto Institute of Sci. & Tech. (ZABIST), Karachi 3. International Islamic University, Islamabad 4. Isra University. Hyderabad. 5. Pakistan Institute of Engg. and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Islamabad 6. National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad 7. National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NU), Karachi 8. Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore 9. Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi 10. Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Sukkur 11. Iqra University, Karachi 12. Aga Khan University, Karachi ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 1) The candidate/father or guardian must be possessing domicile and permanent residence of Khairpur

District. 2) The Students undergoing studies who are already getting financial assistance, stipend or scholarships

through any other source shall not be eligible. 3) The students those must have obtained minimum 60% marks in the last year examination. 4) Certification by the Head of the Institution regarding correctness of statement of student. 5) Attested photocopies of the following documents shall be furnished with the application form:-

i. C.N.I.C. & Student ID. Card. ii. Mark sheets of all the last passed examinations. iii. Father’s/ Guardian’s Income Certificate

NOTE: The applications complete in all respect shall reach the Secretary Khairpur NEED-Cum-Merit Scholarship Board District Government Khairpur at Zila Council Office Khairpur, through Head of the Institution latest by 01-09-2010. The Incomplete applications or those received after due date will not be entertained. The application format given in the advertisement will be acceptable including photocopy.
