Comprehensive coverage of UPSC syllabus along withextended topics.

    2021

  • prodegy.in

Do’s1. Read the syllabus at least twice, in order to remember the topics.

    2. Visualize what can be the content of these topics in a broad sense rather than getting into technical details.

    3. Try to link the syllabus of Paper 1 and Paper 2, identify common or overlapping topics.

    4. Learn the vocabulary and concepts, in order to develop a natural understanding of meanings used in the subject.

    5. Link the topics of each paper vertically amongst them so that you can correlate them, and then develop a ring side view of cross linkages.

    6. Whenever you nish a topic, pick up UPSC questions, the latest years, say 2 years back and start putting your points.

    7. Identify certain key resources and build your conceptual base from them, later you can add some cosmetic treatment from other resources, but only when you are thorough with them.

    8. Revision is must regularly with a cycle of 7-14-21 days and then repeat.

    9. Read optionals till one month before the prelims, though you can reduce the time invested.

    10. Smile, laugh, engage in your hobby, don't worry and never meet pessimistic people... just believe in your efforts, you are bound to succeed.

Don't’s1. Never start studying from comprehensive books like Mohit bhattacharya or Nicholas Henry, unless you have

understood the basic terms and concepts.

    2. Don't mug up the denitions - analyse them and practically think of their meanings while reading newspapers.

    3. Never use astray examples from the newspaper without understanding the context of the question.

    4. Never think that bad handwriting, but good content will give you marks, it's not true. Handwriting matters... but don't expect it to be a calligraphy. It must be legible.

    5. Don't assume that Marks can be enhanced by diagrams, pictures, illustrations only... it can save time, but if not done well it will be taxing for examiner, he may punish you in terms of marking.

    6. Don't use colored pens or pencil for underlining or heading, attest in PA.

    7. Don't try to mug up the coaching notes, they may help you in supporting your prep, but can't replace it.

    8. Don't complicate your answer or jargonize it, it will feel you are simply a cut, copy and paste.

    9. Don't make hypothetical, ideological, emotional conclusions, its administration where you need decision making and not pondering.

    10. Don't be demotivated by seeing the questions, they are based on the assumption that students have put in at least 1 year prep, beginners cannot understand them.

    11. And Don't fall for rumours and gossip mongers, there are toppers every year from PA, and they have scored well... you can be the next, just follow the process.

    12. Don't lose faith and let the cosmos conspire for you.

    DO’S & DONT’S for optimizing score in
