Welcome to the 2012 Jackson Hewitt® National Tax Preparer Recruiting Week ToolkitIn our business, it’s impossible to overstress the importance of hiring (and retaining) quality tax preparers. After all, our tax preparers are our direct link with each and every client that comes into our offices. We need to ensure that our clients’ experience is pro-fessional, thorough and courteous from start to finish.
With tax preparer requirements becoming more regulated by the IRS and competition for acquiring good tax preparers fierce, NHQ has developed a nationally-promoted event that will put a spotlight on recruitment goals for the season. At a time when unemploy-ment is at record levels and the economy is still suffering, National Tax Preparer Recruit-ing Week will be showcasing that Jackson Hewitt offices are looking to fill more than 20,000 jobs across the country.
A Week-Long Event That Will Help You Staff Up for January!National Tax Preparer Recruiting Week has been designed to work in conjunction with your Tax School campaign to ramp up awareness about our open positions and encour-age interested applicants to visit your office. Scheduled to begin on August 13, 2012, and promoted by NHQ at the national and regional levels, this week-long event can be extended locally as long as you have open positions to fill.

TAX PREPARERS WANTEDBASIC FUNCTIONIt’s National Tax Preparer Recruiting Week and Jackson Hewitt® is looking to hire more than 20,000 tax preparers for the upcoming tax season. Do you have what it takes?
As a Jackson Hewitt tax preparer you’re the face of the Company to each and every client that walks into our office. You’ll be tasked with providing outstanding customer service and quality tax preparation, while maintaining all company policies and procedures. This position regularly works with information of a sensitive, highly confidential nature, and requires a working knowledge of income taxes.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES • Greets all clients in a friendly and professional manner; make customers feel welcome and comfortable. • Conducts a thorough in-person tax interview with potential clients, using the Company’s propriety tax software
application. • Provides details to clients on products and services available to them at the time of the interview. • Completes all related tax forms in accordance with policies, and in compliance with legislation and regulations. • Contacts clients for additional information, as necessary, to ensure accurate completion of tax returns. • Audits all tax return forms for accuracy and completeness (i.e., client signatures). • Researches tax related questions and issues and responds to clients in a timely manner. • Monitors on-site client volume and advises supervisor when additional tax preparers are required. • Maintains a positive attitude and meets all customer service standards and productivity levels as set by the
Office Supervisor. • Maintain office image; keep work area neat and clean. • Resolves client complaints and/or works with Supervisor (as needed) to resolve any issues or concerns. • Performs other duties as required. • Obtain a PTIN from the IRS.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Must have a High School Diploma / GED Equivalent. College Course of study in tax preparation and/or
accounting preferred.
EXPERIENCE: • Previous experience in tax preparation and filing a plus. Candidates without tax experience are welcome
to apply, but will be required to enroll in our Tax Course. • Experienced Candidates can test out of our tax course with a passing score on the Tax School Aptitude Test
(TSAT). • Must pass the Tax Preparer Readiness Test (TPRT) and all other Jackson Hewitt required courses / modules
prior to preparing taxes • Good communication and commitment to superior interpersonal and customer services skills • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced business environment • Basic knowledge of computer functions required • Ability to work flexible hours
