• We are inviting individuals from the year group to volunteer to be a member of the organising team that will work to consider the overall feel/look of the final experience.

The final show will take place in 1 space

Room 100 Guntons

This is a room on the second floor of Guntons building and as such will provide an intimate opportunity for display. It will be divided into equal spaces and each student will be allocated a space. This space is being used as teaching space at the moment so please do not interrupt any sessions by turning up unannounced.

Everybody gets an internal space .AndAll students will all be offered the opportunity to show work in the internal space. ButThe system for showing will be rigorous so that only the best work is shown.

Vision – The internal space will be of a high quality and the staff team will curate the experience.

The staff team will design the space so that it supports the students work and displays it to its full advantage.

Students will be invited to develop a proposal. This will be read and advice will be given to the development of the proposed work in the form of written and/or verbal feedback. We are looking for exciting, considered and well made work. We will work closely with students on this element of the final show.

You may like to consider how you will develop your practice within a retail context. You might want to create editions, both 2D and 3D, frame work or develop the work in other ways. How you think about and develop proposals for this opportunity is up to you as long as you consider the idea of the retail experience.

There will be full briefing/training around the invigilation of the space, costing and pricing of your work, presentation of your work.

There will be a commission on work sold.The course is not aiming to make money from this.

New Designers Students should also consider New Designers. The course team will select a maximum of 12 students from the coursesThe selection will be based on what is in your portfolio and whether we think that you will have enough work to present

This will mean that some of you are showing work in 2 places simultaneously.

There is plenty of time if you work this into your timetables and create a rich body of work, starting now.

We will not be taking away work from the show until it is finished.

So you will have to take into account the amount of work you create and how the spaces might require different types of work but each space will need work.

We have developed a strategy for the completion of your course which we feel will enable you to exploit this opportunity fully.
