ABSTRACTIt was achieved an descriptive research field, to determine the levels of non-ionizing radiation exposure in health workers' services, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Surgical Centers and specialized Institutes; assess occupational risks for non-ionizing radiation and electromagnetic fields and disseminate information on the benefits and risks associated to the use of radiation and non-ionizing electromagnetic fields, integrating the international community. We reviewed the literature on the characteristics of biomedical equipment and the benefits achieved in patients also on studies of possible health effects and, on the national and international standards as used in these activities. Information was obtained from hospitals and specialized institutes of Health Ministry, selecting medical practices that use equipment for Magneto therapy, Short Wave Diathermy and Electro surgeryDiathermy from National Rehabilitation Institute and Hospital "Daniel Alcides Carrin". The values obtained were evaluated according to the ICNIRP guidelines. We performed the dissemination of information through workshops and conferences in hospitals and specialized institutes, and through events with the participation of national and international entities representativesThere were no health effects in occupationally exposed to ionizing radiations. In Magneto therapy, in Short Wave Diathermy and Electro surgery Diathermy, the limit ICNIRP is not exceeded. Keywords: exposure, ionizing radiation, safety, medicine
