Benef i t s of Business Cont ent as an Add-On Always use of the newest content.

The duration of the upgrade is reduced to one to two hours, asthe Add-On includes only content-relevant parts.

Starting with the BI Content 3.2 Add-On, a technical upgrade ofBW systems is no longer necessary as only content-relevantobjects are imported.

SAP BW Business Content developments and enhancements

are available at shorter intervals.

Changes in the Support Package procedures separation ofSupport Packages for the SAP BW Technology and SAP BWContent permit independent imports and tests of SupportPackages.

The Add-On release will be available for download from the SAPService Marketplace, which eliminates time for delivery and

customs duties.

SAP BW 3.1 Cont ent - Basis for fur t her Add-On UpgradesSAP BW 3.1 Content consists of the components SAP BW (SAP_BW

310) and the BI Content Add-On (BI_CONT 310).

The BI Content 3.1 Add-On is automatically installed when you upgrade

to SAP BW 3.1 Content.

Technical basis for future Upgrades:

SAP BW 3.1 Content SP0 corresponds to SAP BW 3.0B/SP6 and is the

technical basis for future delta Add-On Upgrades.

BI Cont ent 3.5.1 Add-On Only Released for Ram p-UpCustomers

BI Content 3.5.1 Add-On is only released to ramp-up customer with the

NetWeaver04 ramp-up package.

As long as the BI content 3.5.2 Add-On is not available (before15.06.2004), BI Content 3.5.1 Add-On must be installed during the

upgrade to BW 3.5.

customers. With Mass Shipment of NetWeaver04 (01.10.2004), mostactual BI Content Add-On (BI Content 3.5.3 Add-On) is shipped tocustomer as the separate DVD within the NetWeaver04 softwarepackage.

If you want to upgrade to BI Content 3.5.X Add-On Release, wegenerally recommend you to install the latest SAP_BW SupportPackages

SAP_BW Support Package 01 is the prerequisite for installingBI Content 3.5.1 Add-On.

Split into two separate support packages: BI Content Add-Onsupport packages and BW Technology support packages.

There is no automatic dependency between BI Content Add-Onsupport packages and BW Technology support packages.

For each new BI Content Add-On version we recommend thatyou install the latest BW Technology support package.

Future dependencies are communicated together with therelevant support packages.
