MT 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (NIV)
About Light

Lk 11:34 When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

JN 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

How do we become lights in a time of darkness? How do we become lights in a time of darkness?
![Page 6: 01 lights.in.darkness](https://reader037.vdocuments.us/reader037/viewer/2022110118/554fe6b7b4c90516478b53f5/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Radiating Christ (a prayer)
Dear Jesus, help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go.
Flood our souls with your spirit and life.
(John Henry Newman's Prayer: Radiating Christ)
![Page 7: 01 lights.in.darkness](https://reader037.vdocuments.us/reader037/viewer/2022110118/554fe6b7b4c90516478b53f5/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly that our lives may only be a radiance of yours.
Shine through us, and be so in us, that every soul we come in contact with may feel your presence in our soul.
(John Henry Newman's Prayer: Radiating Christ)
![Page 8: 01 lights.in.darkness](https://reader037.vdocuments.us/reader037/viewer/2022110118/554fe6b7b4c90516478b53f5/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Let them look up and see no longer us but only Jesus!
(John Henry Newman's Prayer: Radiating Christ)
![Page 9: 01 lights.in.darkness](https://reader037.vdocuments.us/reader037/viewer/2022110118/554fe6b7b4c90516478b53f5/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Stay with us, and then we shall begin to shine as you shine; so to shine as to be a light to others; the light O Jesus, will be all from you, none of it will be ours; it will be you, shining on others through us.
(John Henry Newman's Prayer: Radiating Christ)
![Page 10: 01 lights.in.darkness](https://reader037.vdocuments.us/reader037/viewer/2022110118/554fe6b7b4c90516478b53f5/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Let us thus praise you in the way you love best by shining on those around us.
(John Henry Newman's Prayer: Radiating Christ)
![Page 11: 01 lights.in.darkness](https://reader037.vdocuments.us/reader037/viewer/2022110118/554fe6b7b4c90516478b53f5/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Let us preach you without preaching, not by words but by our example, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what we do.
The evident fullness of the love our hearts bear to you.
Amen
(John Henry Newman's Prayer: Radiating Christ)

31 “The time is coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD.

33 “This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

WHAT PREVENTS YOU FROM BECOMING LIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE HIDDEN?
“The Prophet Jeremiah Mourning over the Destruction of Jerusalem” is among the early works of Rembrandt in which his leitmotif of conceptual structure was a single or totally dominant figure that is totally bound up in the course of an historical event. Rembrandt masterfully turns an individual person, their expressions and posture, into a history painting.
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
