Competition/Exhibition and spoke of the many years she had been involved in the QAS
Gallery heritage building. Sue has served 33 years as a Queanbeyan City Councillor sitting on many Heritage Committees and
the Gallery was always on her brief. She was delighted that the Queanbeyan Art Society has built
a sound art society,
making it one of the best
in the region.

TTHE QPRC ‘Christmas In July’ ‘Christmas In July’ held at the Queanbeyan Showground proved a huge success for the Queanbeyan Art Society. Members rallied
and the committee was able to put a nice Exhibition together. Eight paintings sold, four bears and five lots of cardsEight paintings sold, four bears and five lots of cards. Vivien Pinder Vivien Pinder was the big
seller and Nyree Mason Nyree Mason and Belinda Ingram Belinda Ingram sold one each. Belinda sold four lovely bears. The big seller for QAS was the possible signing of
new members, guest speakers and a 2017 Calendar sponsor, all gained from the ‘Christmas In July’ appearance. Well done to all involved! Well done to all involved!

TTHANKS to the QPRC for pulling together the ‘Christmas In July’ ‘Christmas In July’ at the Queanbeyan
Showground because our members sold works and the Society had a chance to meet potential members,
and gain new sponsors for the 2017 QAS Calendar. We even gained a guest speaker. A job well done to the
committee, members and QPRC workers. I am particularly pleased with the diversity of the Society particularly with recent
sales made outside of our Gallery. Secretary Rosanna Rosanna has been active in organising the Christmas In July and the
Riverside Plaza window Exhibitions and sales have been good at the venue. This is the last chance to make sure you have

I I must apologies because the Australian Artist Magazine's August copy has printed my story of my safari
in Botswana. They have made about three errors and the one I am most sorry about is at the end they
have listed the societies I belong to. I sent them a list including the Queanbeyan Art Society but
