NRLI Alumni BOD Meeting Notes

We will discuss the survey results that Teresa compiled at the next meeting.

Deb asked Bob to resend an updated version of the mission statement for everyone toreview. Bob will try and get it to us by next week

The group discussed the status of the newsletter and agreed on the following items:o All BOD members need to submit an article(s) to Bryan on

programs/projects/ activities they are involved in by FEBRUARY 6th.Keep articles at or under 300 words, and if possible send a picture to gowith it.

o Please send a head shot of yourself to Bryan to go along with the bio you

sent him.o Please send Bryan the dates, names, and contact information for any

professional workshops, conferences, events that will occur before nextOctober that can be put in the newsletter's calendar of events and would beof interest to NRLI alumni.

o The first newsletter is slated to go out April 1st. All stories and features willcome from the BOD. It will invite other alumni to include articles in futureeditions

o We will produce a bi-annual newsletter. The spring edition will come out by

April 1st and the fall edition will come out October 1st.o Article request deadlines will be due March 1 and Sept 1, which gives us at

least 4 weeks to format and edit the newsletters.o The newsletter will be an e-newsletter, and will be sent out in a PDF format

o The newsletter will not only be sent out to NRLI alumni, but also sent out to

other organizations and individuals as a way to promote the NRLI program

Wes provided a treasurer's report. He has received 2 membership dues since last meeting,

the BOD paid $503.40 towards the NRLI graduation ceremony, and the NRLI alumniaccount balance is currently at $2021.60

Currently we have a vacant spot on the BOD with Anne Moore's resignation. Deb thinksshe might have a replacement (Hank Vincent from Class VII), but we agreed to discussthis in more detail at the next meeting. If anyone has any suggestions for someone to fillthe vacancy, please let the rest of the group know.

Since Anne is no longer on the BOD, be sure to remove her email address from your listsso she isn't bombarded with NRLI alumni-related emails.

Deborah discussed that because of the new NRLI class schedule (start in the fall and endin spring), this may extend the length of BOD member time commitments. It was agreedthat we will discuss this issue at the next meeting. Currently members serve 2 years.

Candy told the group the NRLI project team had to rearrange the Miami andApalachicola dates for the upcoming NRLI session due to the scheduling of the Miami

Boat Show. We will use the same conference call number for future meetings as we did today: (888)

808-6959 and enter conference code 1826324 when prompted.

Our next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, February 17th from 3P.M. to 4 P.M.
