PARISH/COMMUNITY EVENTS/INFORMATION

OUR PARISH MISSION St. Gregory the Great

Mission Statement

St. Gregory the Great is a Catholic Church made up of people of many different ages, talents, and cultural backgrounds. We are an urban faith community with a small town feel of welcome and hospitality. Motivated by our baptismal calling, we accept our duty to embody the presence of Jesus Christ in the world and to take up the mission he entrusted to us by our word and example. We glorify God through support and service of our time, talent, and treasure to our church and to the larger community in which we live.

ST. GREGORY HELPING HANDS The mission of our St. Gregory Helping Hands ministry is to provide parishioners and people living in our neighborhood with emergency financial or material assistance. It will also provide financial support for local organizations that offer assistance to people in need such as Care for Real or the Women’s Center. PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING UP FOR GIVE CENTRAL GiveCentral is a method of electronic giving that guarantees us a steady income whether you are able to attend Mass any given weekend or not. It is safe. It is easy to enroll. You can change your level of giving at any time if your financial situation changes. It is also a green way to give that reduces paperwork and saves trees. You can sign up for GiveCentral on the home page of our parish web site at www.stgregory.net, or you can contact John Miaso at the Parish Center (773-561-3546), and she can enroll you or help you with the process if you have any questions or difficulties. Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and patience. DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 3RD 2020 AT 11PM https://forms.gle/eKGxbxCHU7H2A4so8 THE WOMEN’S CENTER

SEEKING FAMILY ROOM DONATIONS We need 4 car seats for 20 to 40 lb., plus 3 infant car seat/carriers (by law all car seats must be less than 7 years old), 4 high chairs, 5strollers, 3 baby carriers, 4 pack n plays, 3 toddler beds, 3 cribs, 2 exersaucers and 4 baby swings. We have a great need for baby food and all brands of baby formula (especially Enfamil Formula-the yellow box). All baby food must be in date. Also needed are diapers in sizes 5 and 6 only, and receiving blankets, all sizes of pull ups, new pacifiers, baby wipes, baby shampoo, lotion, and breast pumps. These items cannot be picked up unless accompanied by baby furniture. The families who receive them are grateful for your generosity. For our address where you can deliver them to us or if a pick-up by a volunteer is needed, please call 773-794-1313.

VIRTUAL BABY BOTTLE PROJECT October is Respect Life Month and The Women’s Center needs your help more than ever. Each year, the Baby Bottle Project has been our major fundraising effort. Because of your generosity we have been able to save a multitude of Mothers and their babies from the sorrow of abortion. With parish Mass attendance restricted, the traditional distribution of physical baby bottles will be limited. Because of these uncertain times, we are inaugurating a Virtual Baby Bottle Project. We thank you for your past generosity. You can make your donation at www.gotwc.org. Please we sure to note your parish or organization name so that we can thank the entire group for their generosity.
