Abstract
This paper gives the detection and preventing acts for fire and road accidents in
vehicles. So many reasons are there to caution of accidents to vehicles like GAS
leakage, Collisions, fire accidents, and any other reasons. Whatever the reasons
are, it may cause major damages to vehicles and also to people. Hence we have to
find the solution to vehicles to reach their destination safely. One idea got to solve
this problem i.e. first analyze what are the possible issues to cause accidents, and
placing sensors to particular places. If any changes in the parameters occurred
then the sensors intimate to core of the system, further prevention act taken too
safe, meanwhile and this accident information intimate to emergency call centers
with exact position by using GSM &GPS technology. Whole information stored into
Memory.
1. Introduction
The idea behind this project is, detecting the caution of accidents met in the vehicles as before as, or if
you met any accidents applying the preventing acts to overcome it. Whenever we solve this, we have
to save the lives of people and also vehicles. Mainly the accidents come through in many ways like

fire accidents, collisions, over speed etc. How to overcome this dangerous situation and how to
prevent it. This project gives preventing acts to Fire, Collisions, Fuel Leakage, Alcohol Detection,
Driver Health position. We know, the one of the main reason to cause for the fire accidents is Fuel
leakage (Gas or liquid Fuel). In this project at the fuel tank, a sensor (GAS sensor) is placed suppose
if any leakage it finds, the sensor senses and intimate to ARM7.ARM7 gives an alert to passengers by
voice alert, automatically stop the engine within fraction of seconds. If any way to fire blows then the
temperature sensor senses and intimate to ARM7. It alerts the people by voice alert (Using APR
sensor) , automatically opened the windows and doors, stop the engine, intimate this accident report to
nearest emergency call centers through GSM using GPS technology, Spread the GAS to control the
fire simultaneously. Finally we keep this information in EEPROM to further investigation. Apart from
this, you can add IR sensor for maintaining proper distance between other vehicles to avoid vehicle
collisions, Alcohol sensor for detecting driver whether he drunk while driving. If driver take the
alcohol automatically stop the engine. MEMS sensor for detecting the driver health position.
2. Components Used In This Work
GAS Sensor (MQ3) It is an input device. To detect if any gas leakages occurred in from fuel
tank.
Alcohol sensor (MQ5) - It is an input device. Whether driver drunk while driving
MEMS (ADXL335) - It is an input device. To monitoring the driver health position
IR sensor -It is an input device. Detect any collision make with vehicle
Temperature Sensor- It is an input device. To detect whether fire blows or not.
Voice alert sensor (APR9600) - It is an output device. Intimate accident alert by voice
EEPROM - It is an output device. Stores the information about accident
GSM- It is global System Mobile Communication device. It is fixed at the system whenever accident
causes information passes to all nearest emergency call centers.
GPS- It helps to measure the exact location of the vehicle and displays with longitude and latitude
values.
MAX232- It is a serial communication device. It acts as a level translator between input devices to
(converts TTL logic to Binary logic) ARM7.

4. Advantages & Disadvatages
Advantages
Reduced the fire accidents
Reduced the collisions
Monitoring the Driver health position.
To keep whether he takes alcohol or not.
Avoid collisions like culverts, Bridges. If at all immediately Stop the vehicles.
Observed whether fuel leakage or not (Gas monitoring).
Keeping if fire releases or not and take immediate action
The main motto of this project is if any causes occurs spontaneously intimate emergency
services using GSM/GPRS technology.
Disadvantages:
Network coverage
Applications:
Automobiles.
Security Guard Cabins.
Operators at nuclear power plants where continuous monitoring is necessary.
Pilots of airplane.
Military application where high intensity monitoring of soldier is needed.
5. Conclusion & Future Scope
With the advent of science and technology in every walk of life the importance of vehicle safety has
increased and the main priority is being given to reduce the alarming time when an accident occur,
and immediately take prevention acts so that the wounded lives can be attended in lesser time by the
rescue team. This paper provides the design which has the advantages of low cost, portability, small
size and easy expansibility. The platform of the system is ARM along with MEMS, MQ-5, MQ-3,
THERMISTER, IR, GPS and GSM. The accident can be detected by sensors which will give the
accurate information. The controller will process the data, as soon as input is received by the
controller and message is sent through the GSM module. The geographical coordinates and the time
of the site of the accident is detected by the GPS module. The high priority is given to the lives of the
people. Hence, this paper provides a feasible solution to traffic hazards and it gives security to vehicle
and reduces loss of valuable lives and property.
This can also be developed by interconnecting a camera to the controller Module that takes
photograph of the accident spot that makes the tracking easier. This system can be interfaced with
Vehicle airbag system that prevents vehicle occupants from sticking interior objects such as the
steering wheel or window.
