【Emblem of JDSDF】In consideration of the GSDF’s mission of
protecting the peace and independence of
Japan, this emblem features the rising sun in the
upper part and a cherry blossom symbol which
has been used as a decoration for the GSDF
uniform in the lower part. Featured in the center
is a Japanese sword, which has traditionally
been regarded as a warrior symbol, and a sheath
as a symbol of love of peace.
