Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 SECTION 2(1) Employers general duties to their employees SECTION 2(2) Specific duties of employers to employees (a) Safe plant and systems of work (b) Safe use, handling, storage & transport of articles & substances (c) Provision of information, instruction, training & supervision (d) Safe place of work including access/egress (e) Safe working environment & adequate welfare facilities SECTION 2(3) Employers general duties – prepare and revise a written health and safety policy (where 5 or more employees) SECTION 2(6) Employers general duties – consult with representatives SECTION 2(7) Employers general duties – form a safety committee if requested to do so SECTION 3(1) Employers duty to other persons SECTION 3(2) Self-employed person’s duties to other persons SECTION 4 Duties of Owners & Landlords SECTION 6 Duties of Designers, Manufacturers, Importers or Suppliers of articles for use at work SECTION 7 Employees duty to other persons SECTION 8 Employees duty not to interfere with or misuse anything provided in interests of safety SECTION 9 No Employer must charge for anything done or provided in respect of compliance with Health and Safety
