QQAS recently held the AGM and what a pleasure it was to see the reports

from all quarters and as president it makes me proud to see the wonderful achievements our sound

workable committee have pulled together in a most active year of Art! I am sure many members appreciate the

efforts of our committee members. We are also lucky to have many members not on the committee who step up without

a title but do deserve a mention. I am also pleased that the Society has retained its reputation as being a most ‘Friendly ‘Friendly

are a lot of fun as well as a benefit to your art. It was nice to welcome former Queanbeyan Mayor David MadewDavid Madew and his

QAS INTO SENIORS WEEKQAS INTO SENIORS WEEK

MMONO prints, gelli prints and Lino cuts were experienced and enjoyed at QAS on Friday 8 April, during

Seniors Week. Rosanna Burston Rosanna Burston QAS Secretary, in conjunction with Cheryl Rule, QCC, advertised and organised to bring it all together. Belinda IngramBelinda Ingram, Karen Hall Karen Hall and Pam Padovan Pam Padovan provided the art gear and aprons and the fun began. Participants were encouraged to move around and experience all on offer. The mono printers found that lesser quality paper, if it was damp, gave satisfactory outcomes, even if the watercolour paint had dried. Gelli Printers were fascinated with the colour mixes and pat-terns printed on bond paper. The gelli plate was home made and simple things like onion bags, curtain material and plastic doilies were used for mark making. Exciting results. Cutting into Lino was limited to people experienced in this art as the tools used are sharp. Chris, well experienced in wood cuts, took to Lino cuts like a duck to water. He drew, cut and printed off an excellent image. Many participants said much of what was available was new to them as an art form. It was a most enjoyable day for organis-

ers and participants alike. Thanks to everyone involved for good company and great artie fun dayThanks to everyone involved for good company and great artie fun day.
