SANGGUNIANG PANLALAWIGAN HELD AT THE SANGGUNIANG

PANLALAWIGAN SESSION HALL ON JANUARY 3, 2006 AT 9:00 A.M.

RESOLUTION NO. 2006 001

RESPECTFULLY ENDORSING TO HER EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT GLORIA

MACAPAGAL ARROYO, PRESIDENT, REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES

THE HEREIN PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF RIVER CONTROLS ALONG

CHICO RIVER AT BARANGAYS CABARUAN AND JOSE ANNIBAN,

POBLACION WEST, ALL OF TABUK, KALINGA PROVINCE.

WHEREAS, the swelling of the Chico River brought about by heavy rains have

caused destruction to farmlands, agricultural crops and home lots along the river every

year particularly along Barangays Cabaruan and Jose Anniban, Poblacion, all of Tabuk;

WHEREAS, it is imperative to construct a river controls along said river to

channel the destructive currents away from productive agricultural land and residential

areas;

WHEREAS, the construction of such structure would entail a great amount of

money, so that this Body deems it sapient to request the national government to allocate

funds for the purpose;

NOW THEREFORE:

Be it RESOLVED, as it is hereby done, to respectfully endorse to Her

Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, President, Republic of the

Philippines hereto-attached programs of work and project cost estimates for the

proposed construction of river controls along Chico River at Barangays Cabaruan

and Jose Anniban, Poblacion West, all of Tabuk, Kalinga Province;

RESOLVED FINALLY, furnishing a copy hereof to Her Excellency President

Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for her information on the expressions contained therein and

benevolent action.

Adopted this 3rd day of January 2006 on motion of Hon. Antonio A. Bakilan duly

seconded in a regular session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan held at the session hall,

Capitol Building, Bulanao, Tabuk, Kalinga.
