In general we recommend that you only enter results analysis keys for those WBS elements for whichyou want to carry out results analysis.This way you avoid errors.The actual and plan values of the orders or activities for the WBS element are usually taken intoaccount by the aggregation of results analysis, that is, if this is not prevented by other controlparameters which are not mentioned here.

l Project structure 'A':You use this method if you only want to carry out result analysis in one level of the projecthierarchy.At the time of the calculation, results analysis defines the actual and the plan dataof all WBS elements which are below the WBS element to be defined, including the data of the WBSelement to be defined itself.This way it carries out the calculation and updates the result onthe WBS element to be defined. At the time of the calculation, results analysis checks that onno WBS element there is result analysis data which is above or under the WBS element to bedelimited.

l Project structure 'C':This method works as method 'A' with the difference in the determination of the plan valueswhich are used for calculation.For the WBS elements with status 'Technically completed' at thedate of the aggregation the portion of plan values is replaced by the actual values.

l Project structure 'T':You use this method if you want to carry out result analysis for more than one level of theproject hierarchy.Starting from the WBS element to be defined, the algorithm runs down theproject hierarchy and collects the WBS elements for the aggregation. The algorithm stopscollecting as soon as it finds a WBS element with results analysis key.Here, only the WBS

elements for which result analysis should be carried out may have a results analysis key.

l Project structure 'U':This method works as method 'T', with a difference in determining the plan values which are usedfor calculation.The plan values are calculated as in method 'A'.

l Project structure 'E:Here only the actual and the plan data of the WBS element to be defined are taken into account.

l Project structure 'B':You can only use this method for the WBS elements that are at the top of the result analysishierarchy within the project hierarchy.At the time of the calculation the results analysisaggregates the actual and plan data of all WBS elements that are below the WBS element to bedefined, including the data of the WBS element to be defined itself.Thus it carries out thecalculation.It also aggregates the result analysis data of all WBS elements that are below theWBS element to be defined.It subtracts these from the calculated data and updates the result in the WBS element to bedefined. At the time of the calculation, result analysis checks that there is not resultanalysis data for any WBS element above the WBS element to be delimited.For example, if you have a two-step project, on the WBS elements of level 1 you can carry outresult analysis with a result analysis key that uses project structure 'B' and for WBS elementsof level 2 with a different result analysis key that uses project structure 'T'.
