What is a Book Trailer

(or Book Video)?– A book video is a stimulating visual preview or commercial about a book.

– Most teachers and librarians are using it today to replace “book reports” using Technology as a way to enhance students’ understanding and learning.

Why use it with students in your Library?• It can get students enthused about reading. A

good book trailer practically makes books fly off the shelf and into the hands of students who might not have chosen them otherwise.

• Second, a book trailer gives students a greater understanding of the range of books available to them, and sometimes children need this head start.

• Third, book trailers make the initial connection between the student's prior knowledge and the book's content. Reading comprehension is enhanced by these real connections between reader and text.

COLLABORATION- the key to creating a successful

project!- Collaborate with teacher before beginning lesson

- Decide on goals/objectives of project- Set up a timeline of how long project will take
