* Tell the student that they need
to pretend that these objects are
people. Start with 2 objects and
say “there are 2 people”. Then
add 1 more object bringing the
total to 3 people. * Ask students “who is alone?
Who doesn’t have a friend? Who
is the odd one out? How many
people can you see? So, do you
think 3 is an odd or even
number?”

blocks, students make the shape
using the units given for the
shape’s length, width and height.
* Once they have made the shape,
they are to draw what it looks like
and count how many blocks they
used to total for the volume.
