The force ACTING on an object is the ACTION force…..The force REACTING to that force is theREACTION force……
The ACTION FORCE is the swimmer’s hands pushing on the water.
The REACTION FORCE is the water pushing on the hands
It’s the reaction force that moves the swimmer forward.

Gravity pulls the ball toward Earth. This force is the action force exerted by Earth on the ball
Gravity also pulls earth toward the ball. The force is the reaction force exerted by the ball on earth.
Gravity- the force of attraction BETWEEN objects that is due to their masses
SO, not only does the ball want to be pulled towards earth, the earth wants to be pulled to the ball…but what is going to win that battle??

Obviously, the action force (the ball) falls to earth (because of gravity!)…but why don’t you notice the effect of the reaction force (the earth being pulled upward) ?
Think about newton’s second law…..
The mass of earth is MUCH more than the ball…..so the acceleration is lessIt’s soo small, that you can’t actually see or
feel the acceleration of the earth to the ball
