Wenceslas Square

Wenceslas Square has the shape of a long rectangle, the longer side has a length of 682 m The whole square is slightly inclined towards the Bridge, which forms the border of the Old Town. At the upper end of the square dominates the large building of the National Museum and the equestrian statue of St. Wenceslas by Josef Václav Myslbek of 1912.

Saint Wenceslas (about 907 - 28 September 935, German Wenzel von

Böhmen) was a Czech prince and saint, who is considered the main Czech patron saint and symbol of Czech statehood.

Prague Castle

Prague Castle is the largest Czech castle (originally an early medieval castle site) standing on a rocky promontory above the river Vltava in Prague. From 9th century had been the seat of Czech princes and later kings, and since 1918 it is the seat of the President. Charles bridge

Charles Bridge is the oldest standing bridge across the river Vltava in Prague and the second oldest bridge in the Czech Republic. In the Czech Republic it was the fourth stone bridge construction, bridge over Judith, Písecká and Roudnice.

Charles Bridge replaced the former Judith Bridge, torn down in 1342 during the spring melting of ice.

Vaclav Klaus (* June 19, 1941 in Prague) is the second President of the Czech Republic. He worked as a bank clerk and forecaster, after November 1989, he became finance minister in the governments of Czechoslovakia and later the national understanding of national sacrifice involved in the CSFR. From 1992 to 1998 he held the post of Prime Minister and from January until February 1993 due to premiere perform some of the functions of the President.

Charles university

Charles University in Prague (abbreviation UK, Latin name Pragensis Universitas Carolina) is the largest Czech university, one of the oldest universities in Europe, the oldest in Central Europe. University consists of 17 faculties located mainly in Prague, two located in Hradec Kralove and one in London. In 2010, there were enrolled nearly 50,000 students, or approximately one sixth of all undergraduates in the country. [1] In 2011 the school evaluated the organization Academic Ranking of World Universities as the best in the Czech Republic and in the world (so-called Shanghai) ranking ranked it at 201 . -300.
