Testing Genre Unit of Study

Social StudiesUnit: Revolutionary Period

Essential Question: How can we gather research to support our informational writing?

MUSIC – Ms. KunateeIn 4th Grade Music, we will continue learning the Ukulele! Your child will be learning basic and familiar folk tunes on the ukulele. We will begin exploring with singing and accompanying ourselves on simple songs on the ukulele. Musicians will also dive deeper into choral repertoire this spring. Physical Education – Mr. Stewart Last month we started net games with drills and modified volleyball games. We will progress to using short handled implements during net games for sports like badminton and tennis. We will continue learning about health, nutrition, and disease prevention. In April we begin our baseball unit by focusing on batting and fielding. Students will be able to choose from different implements to strike the ball when hitting to create a differentiated learning experience! Let’s Play Ball!

ART-Ms. PecoraroStudents will continue to create tissue paper flower collages in the style of artist Georgia O'Keeffe.

Computers – Mr. Caniano

The fourth graders will be using Excel this month. First, we review how to use Excel to make calculations and to make graphs. Later this month, we will work on creating a spreadsheet to track expenses. We will also be working with Code.org Course Four this month. Passwords for student accounts were sent home earlier in the year. Please contact me if you are having any issues logging into Code.org at home.
