Fundraising Letter

Dear _______,

I write to you because I have decided to donate a year of my college career to the World Missions Program at Pacific Union College. I wish to participate in this unforgettable opportunity to share the Gospel with others, helping them to grow spiritually, mentally and physically.

To aid in this gift of time spent abroad, the World Missions Program assists in providing room and board, as well as a small stipend to help cover the cost of basic necessities, transportation and the overall expenses of running the program. The remaining funds are raised through friends and relatives like you.

Will you please give as generously as you are able?

Whatever the amount, large or small, your contribution will truly be appreciated toward the total $2,500 of this undertaking. The money will be put into the World Missions Fund, helping turn my dream of missionary service into a packed suitcase, tearful farewells, the roar of a jet engine, and the satisfaction that comes from hearing, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:21).

Please note that your gift is tax deductible, and goes directly to the Student Missionary Fund, a resource for all student missionaries. Therefore, please do not write my name on the check. Instead, make your check payable to Pacific Union College, and in the lower left-hand corner, mark “Student Missions.” Then, please put your check into the provided pre-addressed, postage-free envelope, fill out the requested information on the flap, and place it in the mail. A receipt for tax purposes will be mailed to you after the first of the year.

With your help, my year as a missionary will be a blessing. I ask for your continued prayers to face the challenges ahead—being far from home, adjusting to a new culture—but above all, that I might be a worthy ambassador for Christ.
