This webliography was designed with the intention of providing resources for technology education teachers and students. These sites will provide a vast amount of information in the area of Technology, Science, Mathematics, and Engineering. The sites have been analyzed and evaluated to provide a quick access to certain resources.

International Technology and Engineering Educators Association

The International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) is the professional organization for technology, innovation, design, and engineering educators. This site provides information on leadership, professional development, membership services, publications, and classroom activities. This is a great site that provides teachers with the ITEEA standards for teaching technology education.

This site is a great source for technology educators. The information is valid and up to date. The usability of this site is difficult when trying to find certain things. I rate this site 8 out of 10.

The journal of Technology Education

The Journal of Technology Education provides a forum for scholarly discussion on topics relating to technology education. The Journal publishes book reviews, editorials, guest articles, comprehensive literature reviews, and reactions to previously published articles. This is a great source for teachers and students that need valid information about Technology Education. The journal provides information from 1989 – 2007.

This website provides links to different material located in this journal. The links are easy to follow and there is dates telling the currency of the information. The information provided in this journal is very valid since it is peer reviewed. I rate this site 9 out of 10.

Discovery Education

Discovery Education provides engaging digital resources to schools and homes with the goal of making educators more effective, increasing student achievement, and connecting classrooms and families to a world of learning. This site provides resources for teachers, students and parents. This is an excellent resource for current information in many areas such as science, health and technology. It even has a puzzle maker that can be used for any situation. This site provides so many tools it can be used in for every subject within the school.

This website is very easy to use and the information is current. It also provides information for teachers, students and even parents. I rate this site 9 out of 10.

PBS Design Squad

DESIGN SQUAD is high-energy reality TV show that lets kids show off their smarts as they design and build working solutions for real-world clients. The design squad web site extends the concepts presented on the show and provides viewers with an opportunity to explore content through the lens of engineering as problem-solving using science, math, and technology. This site provides resources for students, teachers and parents.

This website provides valuable activities that can be used in the classroom. The material is seems to be current and even has links to view certain episodes that were shown on TV. However, this site is limited only to resources that relate to the show. Many of the resources are in PDF format. I would rate this site 8 out of 10.

NASA Education

The NASA Education website provides information for teachers and students that promote the understanding of the universe, advanced technology breakthroughs, enhanced air travel safety and security, and expanded the frontiers of scientific research. The information on this web site relates to space and can be used in any technology or science program.

The information on this site is current and gets updated regularly. The resources found here are valid and can be used by both teachers and students. However, the navigation is a little tricky. I would rate this site 9 out of 10.

Design and Technology on the Web

Technology Design Web has gathered information together to help all Technology students. This site will also take suggestions for topics on which students need help or even advice. The site provides students with links to different pages that contain information on a number of topics. The pages are updated and will guide you to a vast amount of material prepared by others.

The information provided by this site is prepared by others. There is a chance that some information may be false or that links do not work properly. However there are many valuable resources there may need to be further evaluation of these resources. I rate this site 7 out of 10.

The Futures Channel

The Futures Channel was founded in 1999 with the goal of using new media technologies to create a channel between the scientists, engineers, explorers and visionaries who are shaping the future, and today’s learners who will one day succeed them. This website provides many multimedia resources that can be used by educators as well as students to enhance the learning process.

The information on this site is constantly updated. The site is easy to use and will attract many students because it utilizes multimedia such as videos. I rate this site 9 out of 10

Technology Education Information Center

The Technology Education Information Center provides students and teachers with many resources that can be used in the classroom. This technology education web site was designed to provide technology education teachers and students with a one-stop source for technology, engineering, design, and multimedia related content, concepts, and resources. This site was designed to supplement laboratory and classroom activities and to promote technological literacy.

This site has some broken links that do not work. It is hard to tell if the information is valid and current. I would rate this site 5 out of 10

NOVA

The NOVA website is related to the television series of PBS. The site has many resources on different topics for example one topic is Tech and Engineering. The site has many video clips as well as articles that provide valuable information on the topic chosen. This site could be used for many other classes within the school.

This website has current information and is updated regularly. The information is valid since they do a wide range of research for their television series. I would rate this site 9 out of 10.

TED: Ideas worth spreading

www.ted.com

TED is an idea worth spreading organization. They hold 3 conferences every year that invite the world's most inspired thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other. This site, launched April 2007, is an ever-evolving work in progress. The site offers students to view presentations and talks by the world’s most inspired thinkers. Many of the topics discussed directly relate to Technology Education.

I believe this site is valuable for students in the higher grade levels. The content is updated regularly and is the talks provide a lot of valid information. However since these are people with different views there may be some bias. I would rate this site 9 out of 10.
