Rara National ParkRara National Park lies in the North-Western Himalayan Region of Nepal. It covers an area of 106 square kilometers in Mugu district. Rara is the biggest lake but the park is the smallest one. The landscape includes the towering snow-capped peaks around the lake that are Rumakund, Malika and Chuchemara peak. More than 51 species of mammals, 241 species of bird, 2 herpeto and 3 species of fish are found in park. They include Musk deer, Himalayan Black deer, Leopard, Jackal, Himalayan thar, Wild dog, Red panda etc. It is also the habitat of different of pheasants, grabes, gulls etc. A number of tourist visit there every year. They can enjoy trekking, nature hiking, wild life and bird watching, village walking and pony riding. Though it is one of the popular tourist destinations, there is no roadway access to the park yet.
