CCD - The year will be coming to a close here and we are already looking at next year. If the thought has ever crossed your mind to teach CCD or if you feel like you just want to help the church in some way the CCD program could put your gifts, of the Holy Spirit, to work. Please grab and fill out an application in the back of church. Thank you for listening to Gods call in your life.

Totus Tuus- This event is back and there is time to turn in those registration forms. Totus Tuus means totally yours and is a look at our faith using the tools and models of the faith like the Rosary, the Saints, and Mary. Mary is the best example of being Totally Gods and our youth will have the chance to learn about her story and many other leaders of our faith from not just one team but two teams that are educated and trained to give these lessons in an interactive intense week of prayer with worship. We are blessed to have two members of these teams come from our very own AFC; Tanner Thooft and Nik Bot. The hosting parish this year is Canby, St. Peter. Please consider signing your child up. Registration forms can be found in the back of churches. Event dates are June 3-8 with a day session for 1st -6th grade and an evening session for grades 7-12 of the 2018-2019 school year.

Steubenville:Steubenville Conference is a chance for our youth to be exposed to Christ love in an intense weekend with deep discussion on the faith. Many fruits have come from this conference like the youth having come back filled with a desire to do more for their faith community and being more active in events with the youth in our own parish. This is a chance for us to grow Catholic leaders in our own community. With this said they do need your help in attending this event as the cost of such growth development can be challenging for some. Will you aid them in this opportunity and in doing so aid in the growth of our AFC. We will be selling goodies after mass at St. Edward’s and St. Leo's on Mother’s day. Pick Mom up a treat. Thank you for your help to better our Faith Community by bettering our youth.

A YEAR WITH POPE FRANCIS DAILY RELECTIONS – *** WELCOME THE HOLY SPIRIT***

When we welcome the Holy Spirit into our hearts and allow him to act. Christ makes himself present in us and takes shape in our lives through us, it will be he – Christ himself – who prays, forgives, give hope and consolation, serves the brethren, draws close to the needy and to the least, creates community, and sow’s peace. Think how important this is: by means of the Holy Spirit, Christ himself comes to do all this among us and for us. –General Audience, Jan. 29, 2014

Reflection: Do you want to love more ardently? Serve more diligently? Forgive more willingly? The Holy Spirit can allow us to do these things if we open ourselves more to him. Come Holy Spirit, teach us to be like Christ.

Relic tour:   Our Churches history is filled with drama, scandal, love, war, triumph and more. What do you expect when you have a church that dates to the son of God. With all this history God has been able to continue to bless us with many great examples of the faith through the Saints. God continues to work through these Saints in what we refer to as Miracles. Miracles have been worked through prayer of novenas and other devotions to specific Saints. We are offered a rare opportunity to be as close to the Church Triumphant as possible. On May 25 at 7pm in St. Leo at St. Leo parish, we will have over 150 relics of these holy men and women God has gifted overflowing graces to. We will have them present to us to venerate and possibly have miracles in our own life take place here. These relics have been deemed worthy to venerate by the Church and Miracles have happened at this event in other cities. Please find the time to come to this and give God the opportunity to work through his Church to bless you.

“What is a relic?” Some of you may ask. A relic is an object connected with a saint, e.g. part of the body or clothing or something the person had used or touched. Relics are not allowed to be bought or sold but free will donations may be made so that this event may continue on its journey to touch the hearts and souls that need the love of Christ.

**Remember to cherish the light of Christ in the hearts of the children you know!**

MISSION TRIP:

My name is Cole Bot and I will be leaving for Denver, CO at the end of May to join the Catholic, nonprofit mission Christ in the City (see www.christinthecity.co), which works to build missionaries and community in knowing, loving, and serving the poor. For two months from June 1 to August 1, I will participate in daily Mass and Adoration, walk the streets of downtown Denver befriending the poor, and help out with all kinds of community services—all while sharing in communal life with fellow missionaries. To attend the mission, I must fundraise $1,700 by May 31st; I will be fundraising all May and any extra funds will go to the mission. Please consider partnering with me to serve our friends on the streets! Your spiritual and/or monetary support makes you a part of our mission. To learn more about the mission and to support us, you can email me at [email protected] or call me at 507-401-0049. Rest assured I will pray for all of you and any intentions you provide for while I am there. Thank you and God bless you!
