Greetings Family and Friends,
We hope that this third edition of the Allen-Terrell Family Reunion Newsletter finds you all in good health and good spirits.
We, the Chicago Family, are pleased to host the 2016 Allen-Terrell Family Reunion. We are excited to have been given this opportunity and want to offer all age groups the chance to spend time together, as well as see what Chicago has to offer. We are in the process of planning a fun-filled weekend for all age groups. We appreciate any comments or suggestions. The Registration Form for the 2016 Family Reunion, as well as the Family Connection form, will be included in every edition of the newsletter. Please complete and return these forms.

Deacon Robert Edward Johnson
Deacon Robert Edward Johnson was born to the late Finely and Catherine Johnson on June 17, 1948 in Grenada, Mississippi. He attended Carrie Dotson High School where he played football, and then entered Alcorn State University, formerly Alcorn College on a full athletic scholarship. Robert came back to Grenada to join the Civil Rights Movement, where he helped to establish voting rights in Mississippi. He joined the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) as a Field Project Director. His fights for civil rights with the SCLC lead him to various travels throughout the United States and Africa. Robert was jailed in 1971, after refusing to be drafted into the military, he was released after 18 months after receiving a pardon from President Gerald Ford. He continued his work with the SCLC, which led him to meet the love of his life, Mary Pitts in Covington, Georgia. They were married in November of 1974, they were blessed with 2 sons, Cleon and Marcus. Robert began working for MARTA, Metro Atlanta Transit Authority in 1979 as a bus operator, while owning his own home construction and repair business. In December 2002, Robert was ordained as a Deacon of Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Mary Johnson, his children, Cleon and Marcus, a special son, Germaine Satterwhite, granddaughters, Cristal, Alisha, and Christina. Siblings, James and Lewis Johnson.
JL PittmanPlease keep the family of JL Pittman (father of Jesse Pittman and father in-law of Trijenia Pittman) in your prayers, he passed away on February 3rd at the age of 76. The funeral services were held on February 13th in Aurora IL.

2016 Reunion CornerOur Allen-Terrell Family Reunion group members can begin
reserving their rooms right away! There are two ways to do so: 1. Call the in-house reservations team at 312-565-3800 and mention Allen- Terrell Family Reunion 2016.2. Use the Passkey Link to book reservations online, via your personal reservation website https://resweb.passkey.com/go/allenterrell . The Fairmont Rooms (Standard Rooms) have been contracted at a rate of $149 per person, double occupancy plus tax at 16.4%, bringing the total room rate including tax to $173.44 per night based on double occupancy. For each additional adult in the room add $30 plus tax ($35 including tax) per night. Children under the age of 18 are free when sharing the room with their parents using existing bedding. There can be no more than 4 people occupying a room. Rollaway beds may be available on request for an additional cost. If you care to upgrade and/or would like additional space, The Park View Suite is available for an additional $75 per night ($260.74 per night including tax). You also have the option of booking an adjoining Fairmont Room and Park View Suite, which can be converted to a 2 Bedroom Suite. The best way to make the reservation for adjoining rooms is by calling the Reservations Team directly at 312-565-3800. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts exclusive guest recognition program, Fairmont President's Club, offers special benefits and privileges designed to reflect your individual travel preferences and offer an enhanced level of service. Plans are being finalized for the 2016 family reunion. The hotel rooms are being reserved, events and activities are being planned, the only thing we need is you. A Registration Form is attached. Please complete your registration as soon as possible, but no later than January 1, 2016. Registration Fees for the reunion are $100.00 for adults, 18 years of age and older (ages as of the July 22, 2016), the cost is $50.00 for children, ages 8-17. Children, ages 7 and under are free. Partial payments will be accepted, but fees must be paid in full by January 1, 2016. Orders for t-shirts can be placed now. Make sure to order shirts for those who will attend, and those who won’t but still want a t-shirt. Only prepaid t-shirts will be ordered! There will not be any extra shirts purchased.Also attached is the Allen Terrell Family Connection form, which will be used to build the Allen Terrell Family Tree. Please complete and return this form, even if you will not participate in the family reunion. We want to be sure everyone is included in the Family Tree, so please pass this information on to those in the family who may not have received this information.We are looking forward to having the best reunion yet.
