To make the crown bigger or smaller we advise you to maintain the central pattern and increase or decrease the number of stitches in the first row. Separating popcorns amongst it.

We will show you several details to help you follow the explanations of this pattern.

In DETAIL1 you enlarge the initial row and the right side of the crown.

In DETAIL 2 you can see more clearly the central and top part of the crown.

In DETAIL 3 we have enlarged the left side of the crown.

STARTING ROW: Make 117 chains.ROW 1: 1 ch to start the row and 1 sc in each stitch. Finish off with sl st in first ch to work in circles. We have 117 sc.ROW 2: 1 ch to start the row and sc in each stitch of the previous row. We have 117 sc.ROW 3: 1 ch to start the row and 8 sc in the next 8 stitches. Make a 4 ch popcorn and a chain to fasten. Make 11 sc in the next sc and 1 popcorn. 11 sc and 1 popcorn until make 9 popcorns separated by 11 sc. Finish off with sl st.ROW 4: Repeat ROW 2. Be carefull that you do not work over the ch of the popcorn.ROW 5: Repeat ROW 2.ROW 6: 1 ch to start the row and 9 ch. Jump 4 stitches of the previous row and make 1 sc and 9 ch. Repeat until you have a total of 18 waves. Finish off with sl st.ROW 7: 1 chain to start the row and 9 sc in the waves of the previous row. 1 sl st in the sc of the previous row. Repeat in every wave. Finish off with 1 sl st.ROW 8: 5 sl st to arrive at the centre of the wave. 4 ch and 1 sl st in the centre of the next wave. Repeat and finish off with a sl st in the first wave.ROW 9: 1 ch to start the row. In the back loop of the ch of the previous row make 5 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 10 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc, 2 hdd, 10 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 6sc.ROW 10: Work this row from the inside. 2sl st. In the front loop of the stitches of the previous row make 52 sc, 2 sl st. Work along in sc until reaching the last sc of the previous row. See DETAIL 3.

ROW 11:Work this row from the inside. 2 ch. Skip always 2 sc of the previous row and make, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 2 ch, 5 ch and 1 dc in the same stitch, 2 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc, 5 ch and 1 dc in the same stich, 2ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc, 5 ch and 1 dc in the same stitch. 2 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 2 ch and sl st. Fisnish off with 1 sl st in the previous row.ROW 12: 1 ch to start the row. In the back loop of the stitches of the previous row make 26 sc. In the central part of the crown make 2 hdc, 2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc, 2 hdc. Keep working sc all around. Fisnish off with sl st.ROW 13: 1 ch to start the row. In the back loop of the stitches of the previous row make 27 sc. In the central part of the crown make 9 hdc, 26 sc. Fisnish off with sl st.ROW 14: Work this row from the inside. 2 ch. Skip always 2 sc of the previous row and make 1 dc, 1 ch 1 dc, 1 ch 1 dc, 2 ch 5 ch y 1 dc in the same stitch,  2 ch 1 dc, 1 ch 1 dc, 1 ch, 4 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 2 ch, 6 tr in the same stitch, 2 ch 1 dc, 1 ch 1 dc, 1 ch, 4 dc, 1 ch. 1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc, 5 ch y 1 dc in the same stitch. 2 ch 1 dc, 1 ch 1 dc, 2 ch and  finish off with sl st in the previous row.ROW 15: 1 ch to start the row. In the back loop of the stitches of the previous row make sc and spread out the 3 ch picots and sl st in the first ch every 4 sc in the back side of the crown and every 2 sc in the points of the central part of the crown. In the centre we have made a triple picot.

STARCH OF THE CROWN FOTO TUTORIALTo achieve the hardened effect we have starched the crown with our grandmothers traditional formula using equal parts of water and sugar.

STEP 1: Pour the same amount of sugar and water into a bowl. Boil for 2 minutes.STEP 2: When the mixture is lukewarm, introduce the crown. Let it soak completely. Drain patiently without twisting it.STEP 3: We lined a circular vessel of the size of our Crown with padding material or rubber eva. Set the crown with pins attached to the container and leave it dry for 24 hours.Finally place a few stickers to give it a nice colorful touch. We hope to receive many pictures of princesses with their crowns of crochet.
