Pausing for Prayer:
At this time we remember that the altar is always open, but it is not where God is more present than anywhere else. It is a place of solitude and stillness. We invite you to pray in the space you know is best for your heart, whether altar or seat, and let the praise team play over us while we embrace the presence of God here and as we dedicate these moments to reflection and intercession.

1 John 4:1-21Jesus Here and Now
John’s discernment for testing the spirit of a prophetic voice is specific to the ____________ of his readers, who were hearing many new things from the gnostic movement. John made specific mention of having touched, walked, and talked with Jesus along with many others. These men became the ___________ of the young church, and here John states that their word is the most trustworthy (1-6)
Once more in Chapter 4 John returns to the central theme of his letter: the mark of a relationship with the one true God is being a ___________ person, taking their cues and example from the _______________ love of Jesus Christ and becoming proof of His life and Spirit still being at work presently. (7-12)
Jesus must not be mistaken as a __________, ___________, or ___-__________. John writes that He is and must be confessed as the Son of God Himself to grasp fully His life in them, both for _________ and in our own lives _____. (13-15)
A great opportunity to memorize Scripture from this passage is found here in verses 15-16!
The love of God is fully ___________ in His Son, Jesus, and in Him most fully _______________ on the cross, but even so it becomes exponentially more __________ in the church that will commit to taking that love into everyday life, and therefore becomes ___________! (11-16)
John ultimately ties his message of God’s ___________ love back to the Church proving it by _________ people! (17-21)
