Positions available:

Photocopier assistants (2 posts) Lunchtime telephonists (10 posts) ICT technician assistants (2 posts) Sports Equipment assistants (5 posts) Road Safety Officers (up to 10 posts) Pupil First Aiders (12 posts FILLED) Playground Pals/Helping Hands (6 posts) Morning hall monitors (4 posts) PA Assistants (3 posts) Lunchtime hall assistants (10 posts) Music Room monitors (2 posts) Head gardeners (2 posts) Librarian assistants (4 posts)

Photocopy assistants will help the office staff doing routine photocopy work especially for large scale runs such as Life and Learning. As we have a faster photocopier now, this will be less important than in previous years, hence only two posts available.

Time requirement: You will need to be very flexible with your time to do this post: you may be asked at 5-10 minutes notice.

Lunchtime telephonists are a vital role. Working in pairs, you will spend 40 minutes of a lunchtime manning the phones. You have to dress smartly, speak clearly and look authoritative.

Time requirement: You will need to give up one lunchtime a week.

ICT Technicians/Digital Leaders work with Mrs Stock and Mr Marshall to check that all the printers have cartridges, that there are no problems with ICT in classes, and keeping the ICT suite tidy and well maintained. Tidy-minded and efficient people welcomed.

Time requirement: weekly checks plus extra time when asked.

Sports Equipment assistants work for Mrs Taylor and are responsible for the provision of PE

equipment to the right class at the right time and making sure the PE room is well maintained and that equipment is put away in the correct places. You will also be needed for maintaining playground equipment.

Time requirement: daily for short periods

Road Safety Officers work first thing in the morning (so you have to be early) to check that drivers treat the car park in a safe manner and that children on cycles have their cycle permits and helmets, and do not cycle on the school grounds. You will wear a yellow tabard and carry a clipboard and look very official.

Time requirement: once or twice a week 8.20-8.45 am.

Pupil First Aiders have already been selected, and they will support Mrs Phillips at lunchtime once a week as trained first aiders with the British Red Cross. This is a very responsible position and is evaluated and monitored for quality control throughout the year.

Time requirement: once a week break/lunch

Playground Pals/Helping Hands are there to help children learn how to play better, to resolve conflicts and to ensure that restorative practices are used between children. There will be training given this term and by Mrs Hodgetts next term. NB If you are already doing this post, and want to do it again, you must apply again!

Time requirement: as required

Morning Hall monitors are the people who put the chairs out and get the hall ready for Collective Worship every morning except Fridays (when Mr Czerniecki does it). You will be trained by Mr Humphreys and expectations of good behaviour are really important, as there is a lot of heavy equipment to be used safely.

Time requirement: Monday to Thursday 8.30 – 8.50 am

PA Assistants know how to use the public address system in the hall and are there to ensure that it is used safely and to offer support to any staff member who does not know how to use it properly. You will be fully trained and certificated. A technological understanding will help.

Time requirement: variable as needed.

Lunchtime Hall Assistants are a new and very important post. Next year, it will be vital for some Y6 children to help Y1 children have their lunch, for half an hour each day. You nwill eat your lunch in the hall with the Y1 children, and then help them with salads, drinks, etc. and with keeping the table neat for the next sitting. You will only have to do one or two lunchtimes a week, and if we get 20 applicants, then just once a week.

Time requirement: once a week, 12.00-12.30 pm

Music Room monitors are responsible for keeping the music room neat and tidy. It is best if you are a musician yourself, as you will have a stake in keeping the music room tidy. Mrs Richards will train you and you will be told how to look after the instruments. You may also be available for other staff to show them how to keep the music room in order.

Time requirement: twice a week for half hour periods in the afternoons

Head Gardeners are there to look after the courtyard area in the winter months when gardening club is not so busy. They must be keen gardeners and enjoy working with plants and be faithful people who will be happy to visit the courtyard regularly (because stuff grows!!)

Time requirement: twice a week for at least half an hour

Assistant Librarians work in the....library, of course! They will work with Mrs Birkett and Mrs Phillips, learn how to use Junior Librarian and keep books in order! YOU MUST LOVE BOOKS!

Time requirement: daily on a rota basis at lunch and/or break
