Overall responsibility for Research Center of Excellence for the Mass. Department of Mental Health with an operating budget of $3-4m/year and 16 faculty and 26 staff. Implemented a strategic plan to address $400,000 deficit and low morale which threatened the center’s viability and ability to retain faculty. Succeeded in expanding revcenue lines and the most successful period of grant awards in the center’s history. Successfully lobbied state legislators to restore governors’ cuts to research budget. Annual budget FY2015 $6,825,040 with 16 grants and contracts submitted and seventeen new research grants awarded for a total of $9.6m in new grant funding.
