If you are not able to print, draw sh/ch chart on a piece of paper and write the sh/ch words on a separate piece of paper and cut them up (do not worry about the pictures). Begin booklet 2 list 7 sight words: look, very, their, out, saw, put. If you are not on purple booklet, continue next list in green booklet. o Fun ideas for this could be creating them using play-doh,

scavenger hunt using note cards, jumping up and down while spelling them, magnetic letters, using them in sentences, rainbow writing, using chalk, finding in book/magazine, writing in shaving cream, etc.

Math * Draw a picture of two sets of objects. Write an addition sentence to go with it. Example:

Talk to your child about the many signs of new life and Easter. Provide construction paper and have your child draw or cut/glue pictures of new life from a magazine (ideas include: budding flowers, animals coming out from hibernation, the sun, a chick hatching from an egg, etc.)

Math Math workbook pages 87-88Science * Egg Throwing Experiment:

Materials needed: 1 egg, bed sheet/large blanket, some sort of hard surface.The purpose of this experiment is to learn about the concept of “give.” What does it mean if something has give?

o Throw the egg against the bed sheet or blanket (you will need two people to hold up the blanket from each side). What happened to the egg? Did it crack? Why/why not?

o Next, throw the egg against a hard surface (maybe a fence, the garage, side of house, whatever you are okay throwing it at). What happened to the egg? Why did that happen?

Spanish and Music

Visit Ms. Kramer’s and Mrs. Lute’s webpage and complete any assignments they have assigned.

Writing * Write about what happened in the science experiment. It might look something like this:My egg did not break when I threw it at the blanket because it had give. My egg did break when I threw it at the wall because it did not have give.

o Kindergarten ready sentence should have 3 things: start with uppercase letter, 2 finger spaces between words, end with period, exclamation point, or question mark.

o Stretch and spell words you don’t know. Kid spelling is okay!

You will need a piece of paper and pencil. Today you will do a written sort. Instead of you sorting the words already typed out. You will sort them by writing the words. On a piece of paper, draw a T chart – sh on one side and ch on the other side (just like the one provided for you). Next, have your typed out chunk words stacked in a pile. Have a parent pick up the first word on top and read it to you. Which side of the T chart (you made) does it belong to – the sh or ch side? Write, with a pencil, the chunk word on the correct side. Repeat until you have completed the stack of words.

Math You will need a deck of cards (numbers only) or create your own number cards using a piece of paper. Flip 2 cards over, add them together, and figure out what they equal. You may use your fingers, counting on strategy, draw it out, or objects around the house to help you add the numbers together if needed.

Math * Supplies needed: white piece of paper, blue construction paper, blue marker/crayon/paint,etc.

o Cut out 5 clouds from the blue construction paper (if no construction paper – you can draw 5 clouds onto white piece of paper)

o Write these 5 addition sentences on the clouds (one on each cloud) 4 + 3 =, 5 + 2 =, 1 + 6 =, 7 + 3 =, 2 + 4 =

o Glue the clouds onto the white piece of paper.

o To show what the answer is to each addition sentence, color/paint that many raindrops under that cloud.
