The Students of MCJ18 batch of DePaul institute of Science and Technology Angmaly took part in the National Students Parliament Kerala 2019 held at the State Leg-islature Complex, Thiruvantha-puram .This event is a part of the 60th Anniversary celebration of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The three day seminar of social-ly and politically active youths from various colleges across the country begins on 23rd February

2019. The event was inaugurated by Governor P.Sadashivam and will be attended by a number of national leader’s cultural figures and even celebrities. During the course of the event the delegates will interact with eminent per-sonalities from various fields and also express their views on variety of topics during the ‘RINGS OF FIRE’ segment. Resolutions will also be put for voting after each plenary and regional sessions.

S.F. I CAMPAIGNS FOR STUDENT’S BUS

CONCESSION

School students with the support of S.F.I protested against the private bus that refuse to allow concession to school children. The protest was carried out under the slogan “MY CONCESSION MY RIGHT”.

Many bus workers deny students the right to board their b u s e s .

I t is those who take drugs during work hours and ones with criminal backgrounds that involve in such acts. The S.F.I area c o m m i t t e e s a i d that they would f u r t h e r s t r e n g t h e n the protests if the police failed to take immediate actions.

Sports day of the academic year 2018-19 of DiST was con-ducted on 2nd February 2019 at DiST campus.Flag off was hosted by Father Potteil with other digni

taries of college. Marchpast was conducted after the flag off, the ceremony was inaugurated by Fa-ther Potteil. The major events were 100m 200m , 400m,,800m ,1500m, long

jumb, triple jumb, shotput,discus throw, javelin throw etc. cricket, basket ball, badminton ,carosm , chess and volley ball for boys and free throw shootout throwball bad-minton carosm and chess for girls were also conduted. There was a tight compe-tition between CS-PG and com-merce department. As the event ends, the individual championship for female was rewarded to rose maria from BCA and for male was shared between amjad and sherin of commerce department. The main highlight was the overall championship held in the event. 1st runner up goes to com-merce department with 144 points and 2nd runner up goes to CS-PG department with 123 points.

The popular i ty of b ihu paved the way to Olympics . A profess iona l dance group led by Rangi th Gogoi per-formed Bihu a t London Olympics in 2012.

I t s per forming s ty le involves br i sk s teps , rap id hand movements and a rhythmic swaying of the h ips in order to present youthfu l pas-s ion . The male per formers a re dressed in dhot i s . And the wom-en usua l ly wear t rad i t iona l Assamese a t t i re for the per formance . They are dressed in Chador and Mekhela , which i s an a t t i re tha t i s o l indr ica l in shape and i s worn on the lower ha l f o f the body. Chador on the o ther hand i s l ike a drape which h is used for cov-er ing the upper por t ion of the body. The women wear a b louse benea th the chador and the common fabr ics used for making the a t t i re s i lk , co t ton and heavy jewel ry.

He has been wel l supported by his high-ly eff ic ient technical crew members . I t i s def ini te ly a visual or iented cinematic ex-per ience.

The movie fol lows the ventures of Rocky played by Yash to conquer biggest

The audience wil l sure-ly be exci ted to watch both rash and high vol tage jour-ney rocky makes to take over K.G.F. and even the emotion-al hi ts a t the very beginning. In short K.G.F chapter 1 is a mass enter ta iner cooked up with wel l measured dose of romance, s tunts , punchy di-alouges and a gr ipping s to-ry. There is no doubt that a t the end of the movie the audience wil l be lef t craving for chapter 2 and the fur ther journey of rocky.The movie also gives gl impses of what remains to be revealed in the second par t .

The narrat ive of the whole movie is in a bi t of rush. The director Mr.Neel has appl ied a few fancy s to-rytel l ing t r icks . The impact of those s tyles aren’t qui te as intense as intended.They feel more l ike some gimicks add-ed for the purpose of making up the otherwise s implis t ic and ordinary nature of the s tory.

However the movie does have immense energy but surely lacks the punch. The movie ends with Rocky becoming the leader of the s laves in the gold mine. The remaining s tory of Rocky’s conquests wil l only unfold in K.G.F Chapter 2 .
