Why is it such a big issue? And why are the media and focusing on
college players rather than the larger issues?
Because that's what we've been conditioned to do. That's what fans care about. There is a huge hypocrisy and college sports. Its like the kids who take pennies are immoral while the universities who chase millions are just.
Why do kids accept the money?
Why do the players take money and cars and houses for their families and much more? Well one reason is recruiting. Some programs feel that in order to get a major recruit they have to throw things at them. Which hints that head coaches are aware of what’s happening.
Cont. Some college programs (not all) have to
give something to get these kids. Some of these players come from poor backgrounds, so for these kids to get some money is a big deal especially if the players and their families aren’t financially comfortable
