• God said, “Do not intermarry...they will turn your hearts away to other gods.” Deut 7:3-4• Solomon married Egyptians, Moabites,
Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, & Hittites
• They turned his heart away
• He worships Chemosh–Moab, Molech–Ammonites, Ashtoreth – Sidonians
Solomon Forsake’s God
• God speaks to him again• Because you turned away I am taking the
kingdom away from you
• But, because of David it will not happen in your lifetime
• It will be taken from your son, but not all of it, because of David and because of Jerusalem

• Blessings cease and adversaries increase• Hadad – Edom in the south
