Parents of students between the age of 5 to 17 will be referred to the Early Warning Truancy program on the fifth (5th) unexcused absence and on the fifteenth (15th) tardy/late-checkin to school or early checkout from school. A written note from a parent or guardian will excuse absences for up to but not exceeding five (5) absences per year. Further absences will require a doctor's note in order to be coded as excused. Exploring careers in science, technology, engineering, and math! We are unleashing problem solvers and planting seeds for future success.

OUR SATELLITE EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

BEGINS ON MONDAY , AUGUST 13 , 2018 AND

WILL BE RAN BY THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF

WEST ALABAMA THIS SCHOOL YEAR

If you are interested in your child attending theextended day program for the 2018-2019 schoolyear, please register them through the Boys &Girls Clubs. They will be on site at the Meet &Greet and Open House for you to register and askany questions. The registration fee is $10 perstudent and covers the full 2018-2019 school year.There is a $5 charge per week for bustransportation if needed. Any car riders not picked up will be taken to theextended day program at 3:05 each day. Therewill be a $7 fee per day for car riders not pickedup by 3:05. Students in extended day must bepicked by 5:00 pm. The early morning program is no longer available.

TransportationAt the start of the school year you will inform the teacher of your child's mode of transportation, specifically for afternoon dismissal. Your child may either be picked up, ride a bus, or attend extended day. Any changes in a child's transportation must be communicated in writing by the parent! We can only follow written changes for the safety of your child.

REMINDERS

By now, you should have received information concerning registering your child online, whether he or she is a returning student or a new student. If you have not registered your child, or do not have access to internet, you may register your child during the Meet & Greet in the library . If you have moved and have a new address, you will need to bring your new proof of residency to the secretary, Ms. Cook. Please update all telephone numbers.

Students will not be checked out after 2:25 pm. Only emergency calls should be made to the office after 1:00 pm. Messages will not be given to the teachers in the afternoon unless there is an emergency. All parents and visitors must present a picture I.D. in order to check-out students or visit the school.

Car riders not picked up by 3:05 will be sent to extended day. The daily fee is $7.

All checks written to the school must have a current phone number written on the check in order to be accepted.

Students must wear tennis shoes to PE!

Open house is Tuesday, August 28th at 5 pm

Afternoon check outs and calls
